HP was one of the first companies to launch an ARM-powered Windows 10 notebook last year, it launched the Envy x2 which was powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor. The company confirmed a month later at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 that the same notebook will also be available with an Intel processor inside. Almost six months after it made that announcement, HP is finally shipping the Envy x2 with Intel inside.
The HP Envy x2 powered by the Snapdragon 835 costs $999.99 and comes with 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and 4G LTE connectivity. HP is charging $1,149.99 for the Intel-powered variant which also features the same RAM and storage configuration as well as LTE support. The company had previously said that cellular connectivity would be optional on the Intel-powered model.
It’s powered by the Intel Core i5-7Y54 processor and is only available in the one configuration so there’s no range of Intel processors that customers can choose from here. This seventh-generation chip has already widely been used in low-power ultra-slim notebooks by many of Intel’s hardware partners.
Everything else remains the same on the notebook so customers will get Windows 10 Home out of the box as well as the 12.3 inch WUXGA+ touchscreen display and Intel HD Graphics 615. The Intel-powered model of the Envy x2 is now readily available for purchase from HP’s website.
