Amazon’s e-readers are widely appreciated in the market for their quality but there are some other companies that are making similar products as well and Kobo is one of them. The company today announced the launch of its new e-reader called the Kobo Clara HD and as the name suggests, it brings a sharper screen to this affordably priced e-reader.
The specs of the Kobo Clara HD are actually quite similar to those of the Kindle Paperwhite from Amazon. Priced at $129.99, it features a 6 inch Carta E Ink touchscreen display with 300 ppi which allows for a much better reading experience.
Kobo’s ComfortLight PRO technology can adjust the lighting and temperature of the screen to ensure that users have no issues with reading their favorite books and novels even under direct sunlight.
There’s a pattern at the back that’s not just there for aesthetics as it also helps improve the grip that users get on this device. The Kobo Clara HD features 8GB of internal storage which is ample storage for the countless books that users will be able to download from the Kobo store.
Kobo has started taking pre-orders for the Clara HD starting today and it’s going to begin shipping the e-reader to customers from June 5th.

LG is a major player in the smart TV market and it has taken a slightly different route compared to some of its rivals by sticking with its webOS platform instead of Android TV. The platform has served its smart TV range well and the company continues to improve the platform by adding features that are trending with users. It has already integrated Google Assistant with its smart TVs and now Amazon’s Alexa digital personal assistant is supported on LG’s 2018 smart TVs.
LG says that it has added support for both Google Assistant and Alexa to provide users with the most comfortable smart home experience. The added support will certainly come in handy when you can’t find the TV’s remote as well.
All 2018 LG OLED TVs and Super UHD TVs that feature ThinQ AI are now compatible with Alexa-enabled devices. What that means is that users with an Alexa-enabled device such as an Amazon Echo can now control their LG smart TV using that device through voice commands given to Alexa.
They will be able to accomplish tasks such as switching channels, adjusting the volume, browsing content, and even launching private YouTube streams in another room through voice commands that they give to an Alexa-enabled device which will then relay them to the LG TV.
