2021 Dodge Viper marks return of a legend sans V10

Dodge is rather notorious for canceling the Viper and then reviving it. Such is the case again with a new report claiming that the Viper will return as a 2021 model. The catch for fans of the car is that the V10 muscle the Viper has been known for since its introduction will be no more. The revived Viper will … Continue reading

Alleged Pixel 3 XL Front Panel Reveals Notched Display

With more smartphones starting to adopting full screen designs, it is inevitable that we start seeing more of the notch design. Google is aware of this and in Android P, it seems that Google’s intention is to make Android more notch-friendly, and a recent photo seems to reveal why.

Now obviously making Android more notch-friendly means OEMs have more flexibility when it comes to design, but a recent post on Slashleaks (via Pocketnow) has revealed the alleged front panel of the upcoming Pixel 3 XL, and lo-and-behold, there is a notch. The photo also shows off the smaller Pixel 3’s front panel which seems to skip on the notch, and while the size differences are obvious, we can imagine that had Google gone with a bezel design, it would have made the phone a lot bigger.

That being said, it is unclear as to how accurate this leak is, but like we said given that Android P is meant to make Android more notch-friendly, it is possible that its inclusion might have been with the Pixel phones in mind. The reason why we’re seeing more notched phones is because in order to make a phone full screen, there needs to be a place for the speaker, front camera, and other sensors to go.

The notch is usually where they reside and this varies in size from Android manufacturer to Android manufacturer. Take this leak with a grain of salt for now, but the Pixel 3 handsets are expected to be announced later this year so hopefully we’ll have more details then.

2019 iPhones Will All Adopt The Use Of OLED Screens

The rumors surrounding this year’s iPhones claim that Apple will launch three iPhones, two of which will feature OLED screens and one will continue to use LCD. However that could change in 2019, at least according to a report from ET News (via MacRumors) which claims that 2019’s iPhones will all feature the use of OLED screens.

For the past few years we’ve been hearing that Apple will be shifting to the use of OLED screens for its iPhones, and last year that was finally proven true with the iPhone X. However the rumors have been claiming that Apple will take a few years before all its iPhones start to use OLED, and this new report from ET News seems to corroborate those claims.

We have been hearing that Apple has been trying to find OLED suppliers besides Samsung and have apparently invested in LG to help the company get its OLED production up and running. In addition to the OLED rumors, the report is also claiming that Apple will be maintaining its three iPhone lineup even in 2019.

This year we are expected to get three iPhones, with one model maintaining the iPhone X’s 5.8-inch display, a 6.1-inch LCD model, and a 6.5-inch iPhone. Assuming it’s true for this year, we expect that Apple will maintain those sizes next year as well.

Millennium Falcon Picnic Blanket May Not Look Like Much

The sun is out and you’re hungry. It’s a great day for a picnic. But something is missing. The Millennium Falcon is what you need. Forget the Kessel Run. Head to a nearby park with this Millennium Falcon Picnic Blanket and enjoy the day.

This picnic blanket is a replica of the ship that fans know and love. This is the closest that any of us will ever get to dining on Han Solo’s famous ship. Instead of flying your ship to the park, just carry it, set it down and enjoy your meal on the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy. You don’t even need a Wookiee co-pilot since it comes with its own carry bag.

Enjoy this blanket with someone special and have a romantic meal or invite the whole family and have a fun picnic they will never forget. If you do know a wookiee, it only makes sense for the two of you to have a picnic together and talk shop. Maybe go over the ship’s next modifications, or talk about how the hyperdrive has been stalling lately. Sure, you’ll get some weird looks, but who cares? Even Wookiees and scoundrels need a picnic now and then.

Amazon Alexa calling: don’t enable it if you don’t need it

What was supposed to be the fastest growing market in consumer tech came to a screeching halt last week when it was revealed and acknowledged that Amazon’s Alexa secretly and mistakenly sent the recording of a private conversation to a random contact from the owner’s phonebook. That has led to many crying foul over Amazon’s practices to paranoia about smart … Continue reading

PUBG Corp. Suing Epic Games Over Fortnite’s Similarities

Battle royale styled games appear to be in trend right now, which is why games like PUBG and Fortnite are so popular at the moment. Now it’s hard to deny that both games do share some similarities in their play style and it is clear what they are offering, but are they similar enough to the point where one might be considered a rip-off of the other?

That’s what PUBG Corp. seems to believe and will be suing Epic Games over Fortnite. The company is asking the courts to determine if Fortnite might have copied the game, although interestingly enough the lawsuit appears to be targeting Epic Games Korea, who are planning a launch of Fortnite in East Asia.

As destructoid points out, it is possible that PUBG might be looking to cut off their competition’s expansion into Korea, but like we said, both games do share similarities and we guess it was only inevitable that this would happen. That being said, more developers are coming out with battle royale style games.

A good example would be Treyarch who for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be introducing a battle royale map called Blackout. Bluehole’s VP Chang Han Kim (PUBG Corp’s parent company) also released a statement which reads, “We’ve had an ongoing relationship with Epic Games throughout PUBG’s development as they are the creators of UE4, the engine we licensed for the game.”

“After listening to the growing feedback from our community and reviewing the gameplay for ourselves, we are concerned that Fortnite may be replicating the experience for which PUBG is known. We have also noticed that Epic Games references PUBG in the promotion of Fortnite to their community and in communications with the press. This was never discussed with us and we don’t feel that it’s right.”

New Leica Mirrorless Camera Rumored For June

If you’re in the market for a new mirrorless camera and have the cash to spare, you might be interested to learn that Leica could have something for you. A report from Leica Rumors has revealed that Leica might have a new mirrorless camera that they plan on announcing this coming June.

Details are scarce but if the rumors are to be believed, it will be a full-frame mirrorless camera that will be a bridge between Leica’s CL and SL models, and the report claims that it will most likely be named the Leica CM (or C-M). It will feature a brand new sensor that is said to make it excellent at low-light photography, and also offer up high dynamic range capabilities.

In addition to announcing a new mirrorless camera, the June event is also expected to see Leica introduce at least five new mirrorless lenses that will be added to Leica’s existing setup and are expected to be released over the next 18-24 months, so if you’re already a Leica shooter then these lenses could be worth looking forward to.

No word on pricing but given Leica’s previous releases, we expect that it will not come cheap, so be prepared to pay if this is something you think you might want to add to your collection.
