Telltale Delays The Wolf Among Us 2 To 2019

The Wolf Among Us was released by Telltale Games in 2013 to positive reviews. Fans have since been waiting for the sequel which the developer has already confirmed to be in development. The sequel was originally announced in July last year and Telltale was aiming for a launch in late 2018. That’s not going to happen, though, as Telltale has now officially confirmed that The Wolf Among Us 2 has been delayed to 2019.

The developer mentioned in its blog post that the game is now going to launch in 2019 because of a new “fundamental changes” at Telltale since the game was announced in July last year.

The changes it’s referring to are likely the employee layoffs late last year, Telltale laid off almost a quarter of its staff in a restructuring effort. It also mentions that taking this extra time for The Wolf Among Us 2 is going to allow Telltale to “not only to focus on quality but also to experiment and iterate in order to craft something truly special.”

It reiterates that the goal remains to deliver an experience that’s in line with the passion the fans have shown for The Wolf Among Us so these extra months will help Telltale do its best work.

The developer hasn’t provided a confirm release date as yet, though, so it’s unclear right now when we can expect The Wolf Among Us 2 to arrive next year.

Tesla Supercharger Map Updated With Planned 2018-2019 Locations

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had recently promised that the company would update its map of planned Supercharger locations to identify the locations where new Supercharger stations will be installed during the 2018-2019 expansion of the network. The map has now been duly updated to highlight these locations which are spread throughout North America, China, and Europe. Tesla currently has more than 1,260 Supercharger stations across the globe with more than 9,800 Superchargers.

Tesla has been rapidly adding more Supercharger stations to its network this year and plans to keep up the pace of the expansion in the coming year as well. The network is essential for the company as it helps reduce range anxiety for those who take a change on its all-electric cars. The Supercharger network allows them to make long road trips without having to worry about not finding a place to charge their car.

Tesla’s new map clearly shows the locations where the company is going to set up new Supercharger stations during the 2018-2019 expansion. This will allow owners to get a better sense of where these stations will be set up and when they will be operational.

When zoomed in, the map displays existing operational stations in red while planned stations are peppered throughout the map in grey. Clicking on a grey station will reveal when the station will likely be operational.

The map is accessible here.

New York City Taxis Will Soon Have Android Tablets

The Android tablet market continues to slide but even though consumers aren’t picking them up, they will soon find Android tablets in New York City taxis. Curb Mobility has confirmed that its fleet of taxis in New York City will soon come with no less than two Android-powered tablets, one for the driver and the other for the passenger.

The first tablet, Dash, will be a digital meter which replaces the bulky legacy taxi systems with a lightweight tablet. It will provide drivers with an easy to navigate user interface and additional features such as multi-language support, live traffic information, GPS navigation, and an emergency panic button. It will even display fare heat maps so that drivers can increase their potential earnings by heading to areas where demand is high.

The passenger-facing 10 inch Android tablet will be called Ryde. It pairs with the Dash system to provide riders with interactive experiences for their commute. It supports a variety of third-party apps including the next-generation of the Taxi TV media platform. These experiences will be aimed at making the commute more enjoyable for riders.

Curb has started piloting this in-cab technology with dozens of taxis throughout New York City with a mass rollout scheduled for June.

Nokia Launching Battery-Focused Handset On May 29th

HMD Global, the company that makes Nokia-branded smartphones now, has scheduled an event for May 29th where it seems that it’s going to be launching a battery-focused handset. The teaser that HMD Global has dropped suggests that whatever new handset it has up its sleeve, it’s likely going to focus on providing users with exceptional battery life.

Press invites for this event have already been sent out so the product launch is a go for May 29th. Not much is known about the device it’s going to launch at this event in Moscow right now but the company has been dropping teasers through its social media channels.

It’s using the hashtag “#ChargedUp” to promote this event which has led to speculation that the device HMD Global is going to launch at this event has something to do with providing amazing battery life. So it certainly won’t surprise anyone if the battery life is the major selling point of the handset it launches on May 29th.

HMD CPO Juho Sarvikas played his part in promoting the event as well by tweeting that the company has “new stuff to share” on May 29th which can be taken as a major indication that some new Nokia-branded smartphone is due to be announced in a couple of days. Some new Nokia-branded handsets have received regulatory approval in Russia not too long ago so it will be interesting to see which of those devices are made official on Tuesday.

Apple Rejected Valve Steam Link App Due To Guideline Violations

Valve confirmed a couple of weeks ago that it’s going to launch the Steam Link mobile app to enable PC games to stream games from their computers to their mobile devices. The app is already available for Android users in beta but the iOS release couldn’t go through because Apple rejected the app. A few days passed with no explanation from the company about why it had rejected the app and now Apple’s marketing chief Phil Schiller has explained why the company didn’t allow the app on the App Store.

Schiller explained in an email to those who reached out to the company to ask why the app hadn’t been approved. He said that the Valve Steam Link app violates several Apple guidelines around user generated content, in-app purchases, content codes, etc which is why it couldn’t be approved. The full email follows below:

“We care deeply about bringing great games to all of our users on the App Store. We would love for Valve’s games and services to be on iOS and AppleTV. Unfortunately, the review team found that Valve’s Steam iOS app, as currently submitted, violates a number of guidelines around user generated content, in-app purchases, content codes, etc.

We’ve discussed these issues with Valve and will continue to work with them to help bring the Steam experience to iOS and AppleTV in a way that complies with the store’s guidelines. We put great effort into creating an App Store that provides the very best experience for everyone.

We have clear guidelines that all developers must follow in order to ensure the App Store is a safe place for all users and a fair opportunity for all developers.”

Developers must follow these guidelines if they want their apps to be listed on the App Store. Schiller said that the company is working with Valve to address the violations and once they have been removed, the app can be listed on the App Store.
