Amazon Adds Moto G6 Play And Z3 Play To Discounted Lineup

Amazon’s Prime Exclusive lineup offers handsets at a slight discount compared to their normal price. The lineup is only available to members of the company’s Prime program and they previously had to put up with lockscreen ads in exchange for the discount. That’s no longer the case but Amazon does pre-install some of its apps on these devices now, including Alexa. The company has confirmed that the Moto G6 Play and Moto Z3 Play are now part of its Prime Exclusive lineup.

Amazon is taking pre-orders for both handsets starting today and they will begin shipping to customers come June 29th.

The Moto G6 Play has a 5.7 inch LCD HD+ display with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It also features a 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera, Android Oreo, and a fingeprrint sensor. Amazon is selling it for $189.99, a $10 discount compared to its regular price. It’s unlocked and compatible with all four major carriers.

The Moto Z3 Play has a 6 inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with dual 12MP and 5MP rear cameras and an 8MP front camera. The device has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, a fingerprint sensor, Android Oreo, and it comes with a Moto Power Pack Mod. It’s compatible with all carriers as well and is available on Prime Exclusive for $449.99 compared to its normal retail price of $499.99.

Amazon’s Alexa assistant can be summoned on both devices by tapping on the Alexa icon in the favorites tray or by double pressing the power button when the device is unlocked. Alexa can also be configured as the default assistant on these devices.

Flying DRAGON Robot Creeps into Your Nightmares on Ducted Wings

One of the things I am often glad of is that snakes can’t fly. I can’t think of anything worse than being chased by a flying snake set on biting me with its gross forked tongue and fangs. This snake-like flying DRAGON robot from the University of Tokyo looks set to fly right into my bad dreams.

The squiggly bot can change its shape to suit the obstacle it needs to transverse. It is a prototype made of linked sections each with their own pair of ducted fan motors to help it morph and fly through challenging obstacles like holes in a wall. Of course you could accomplish the same with a mich smaller and simpler drone, but where would the fun be in that?

DRAGON can fly in the formation of an L, a straight line, a square, a zig-zag depending on its needs. When it gets to its goal, it can’t shoot water or anything to put out fires like the water shooting snake bot, but it could scare the crap out of a hapless bro stuck in a building or cave.

Bag Week 2018: The Nomadic NF-02 keeps everything in its right place

Nomadic, a Japanese brand sold by JetPens in the US, makes some of my favorite bags and backpacks . The Wise Walker Toto was an amazing little bag and I’ve always enjoyed the size, materials, and design. The $89 Nomadic NF-02 is no different.

The best thing about this 15×7 inch backpack is the compact size and internal pouches. The Nomadic can hold multiple pens, notebooks, and accessories, all stuck in their own little cubbies, and you can fit a laptop and a few books in the main compartment. This is, to be clear, not a “school” backpack. It’s quite compact and I doubt it would be very comfortable with a much more than a pair of textbooks and a heavier laptop. It’s definitely a great travel sack, however, and excellent for the trip from home to the office.

The bag comes in a few colors including turquoise and navy and there is a small hidden pouch for important papers and passports. There is a reflective strip on the body and it is water-repellent so it will keep your gear dry.

Again, my favorite part of this bag are the multiple little pockets and spaces. It’s an organizer’s dream and features so many little spots to hide pens and other gear that it could also make an excellent tourist pack. It is small enough for easy transport but holds almost anything you can throw at it.

Nomadic is a solid backpack. It’s small, light, and still holds up to abuse. I’m a big fan of the entire Nomadic line and it’s great to see this piece available in the US. It’s well worth a look if you’re looking for a compact carrier for your laptop, accessories, and notebooks.

Facebook can predict a musician’s movement using only an audio clip
