Todd McFarlane Wants To See A Spawn & Venom Movie Crossover

As you might have heard, later this year Sony will be launching the Venom movie. Now we have seen many comic superhero mashups and crossovers in the past, but if there is one crossover that Todd McFarlane would like to see, it would be one between Venom and Spawn, for those who are unfamiliar will be getting its own movie as well.

Speaking to CBR, McFarlane was asked how he would have approached creating the Venom movie, in which he then brought up the idea of a crossover between Venom and Spawn. He was quoted as saying, “Here’s a big “What If.” What if Sony distributes Spawn? Then is it possible that in the future Sony could have a crossover with Venom and Spawn? It’s possible. So, I will be presenting that possibility to the Sony executives when we get ready.”

Just in case you’re wondering why would McFarlane be so invested in Venom, it is because he was one of the artists that helped to create the character. According to McFarlane, “My conversation with them would be, why wouldn’t you? Here’s what I know. Let’s say Venom is huge — I hope it is — then no matter who distributes Spawn, the first thing you will see in every trailer will be, ‘From the co-creator of Venom.’”

That being said, it is unclear if this will actually happen or if it will even work out, so for now we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled. In the meantime many are already wondering how Venom will fit into the current iteration of Spider-Man, so we can’t imagine what it would be like if Spawn was thrown into the mix.

Overwatch’s Latest Hero Has Been Revealed

So the other day Blizzard posted a short teaser video about a potential new hero that they would be adding to Overwatch. The video was short and it showed an armored ball rolling past, which seemed to suggest that the upcoming hero could have defensive abilities like an armadillo where it can roll into a ball to protect itself.

For those wondering about the new hero, wonder no more as Blizzard has officially taken the wraps off it. The new hero is dubbed Wrecking Ball, also known as Hammond, and it also corroborates earlier speculation which suggested that this new hero is an animal that was experimented upon similar to Winston.

According to Blizzard, “In one of the many experiments carried out at Horizon Lunar Colony, animals were given genetic therapy to assess their adaptation to extended periods of habitation on the moon. As an unexpected side effect, several of them exhibited exceptional growth in physical size and brain function. While most of the test subjects were gorillas or other primates, there were some exceptions, including a hamster named Hammond.”

As expected given the character’s defensive capabilities, Wrecking Ball has been classified as a tank hero, meaning that players who choose it are expected to help protect the rest of the team. The new hero is currently available on the PTR so if you’d like to take it for a spin, you’ll have to download the PTR to check it out.

Halo TV Series Will Be Launched In 2019 On Showtime

We have been hearing reports that a Halo TV series is in the works. In fact it was back in 2017 that we heard that the show was still in development. The good news for Halo fans is that if you were looking forward to checking it out, you’ll be pleased to learn that the series will be officially launched in 2019.

The series was picked up by the folks at Showtime and will feature 10 episodes, with each episode running for about an hour. According to David Nevins, President and CEO of Showtime Networks, “Halo is our most ambitious series ever, and we expect audiences who have been anticipating it for years to be thoroughly rewarded.”

“In the history of television, there simply has never been enough great science fiction. Kyle Killen’s scripts are thrilling, expansive and provocative, Rupert Wyatt is a wonderful, world-building director, and their vision of Halo will enthrall fans of the game while also drawing the uninitiated into a world of complex characters that populate this unique universe.”

As IGN points out, the rumors about the TV series has been ongoing since back in 2013, which means that fans have been waiting for at least 5 years for it to become a reality. However we suppose better late than never, right?
