Fortnite may be grabbing all of the headlines these days but PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a behemoth in its own right. Bluehole, PUBG’s parent company, today revealed that the title has 400 million players globally across the platforms it’s available on. It continues to be one of the most popular titles on the planet and in a bid to bring more players into the action, it’s discounting the PC version of PUBG for a limited time.
The full version of the game is now discounted by 33.33 percent and can be purchased for a limited time for $19.99. It includes both the Erangel and Miramar as well as the new Sanhok map which is due on June 22nd.
It has been just over six months since PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was globally released while it has been a little over 15 months since its early access release. It has now hit the 400 million figures across Xbox One and PC. More than 50 million units of the game have already been sold across Xbox One and PC combined.
Despite its meteoric rise, PUBG continues to face tough competition from Epic Games’ Fortnite, which also happens to be available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. PUBG is available for mobile devices as well while Fortnite is yet to land on Android and once it does, its popularity will certainly grow even more.

Uber is testing a new feature that will offer cheaper rides to users who are willing to wait. It often happens that we absolutely have to catch an Uber at a particular time and pay for it even when surge pricing is in effect which can lead to significantly higher fares than normal. However, if you have the luxury of time, Uber’s new feature will allow you to wait for a cheaper ride.
An Uber employee tweeted out a picture of this new feature which revealed that it will inform users what time fares are lowered and the amount they’re going to save. If they’re okay with waiting, Uber will then request their ride at that time so that they can save a few dollars in the process.
Even though the employee has since deleted the tweet, Uber confirmed to Quartz that this experimental feature has been developed but it’s not available to users just yet. This feature is currently available to Uber employees in San Francisco and Los Angeles only at this point in time.
It will depend on how the testing goes before Uber decides whether or not it will offer this feature to all users. It will certainly go a long way in help them book rides at times where they don’t have to pay over and above the normal fare.
