Recent reports have suggested that Samsung is working on a new smartwatch which may be launched as the successor to the Gear S3. This is why it’s currently referred to as the Gear S4 despite reports that the company is planning to shift its Gear devices to the Galaxy branding as well. A new report claims that Samsung might launch the Gear S4 this August, possibly alongside the Galaxy Note 9 which some believe will be announced on August 9.
The previous two generations of its Gear smartwatches were launched at the IFA trade show in Berlin which takes place in September. This year, the company is expected to ditch the IFA stage for its new smartwatch and unveil it alongside the Galaxy Note 9 instead.
Not much is known about the specifications of this new smartwatch but recent reports have suggested that it’s going to be thinner than its predecessor and may even have a bigger battery inside. Other features that are expected to be present include enhanced support for Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant.
Bear in mind, though, that Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything about its next-generation smartwatch at this point in time so it would be best to take this information with a grain of salt until there’s more to go on.

Fans of The Last of Us had been anxiously waiting for E3 2018 because that’s where more information about the upcoming title was to be revealed and their patience was revealed with a new trailer for the game. The trailer made it very clear that Ellie will be the main character in the new story and it has now been revealed that Ellie will also be the only playable character in The Last of Us 2.
Joel was the main character in the original game and players had control over him for the majority of the game. However, in the later parts of the game, they did have to complete some tasks with Ellie.
A demo of The Last of Us 2 was showcased at Sony’s E3 2018 event which had Ellie taking part in combat against the Seraphites who are one of the enemies in the game. An extended version of the demo was also shown behind closed doors to a selected audience where Naughty Dog was asked if the game includes playable characters other than Ellie.
Co-lead game designer Richard Cambier initially dodged the question with a “We aren’t saying anything about that yet” response but creative director Neil Druckmann later decided to confirm that Ellie will indeed be the only playable character in the upcoming game.
Naughty Dog hasn’t confirmed a release date for The Last of Us 2 just yet.

There are only a handful of devices that are compatible with the public Android P beta that Google launched after I/O 2018 and the Nokia 7 Plus is one of them. Those who own the device and are running the beta were taken by surprise when an over-the-air update downgraded them from Android P to Android Oreo for no apparent reason.
Users who opt for beta firmware on the devices know that they are going to run into bugs and they’re mentally prepared for them. However, being downgraded to a completely different version of the operating system is bound to have caught them by surprise.
Many Nokia 7 Plus users who were running the Android P beta have reported that they were downgraded to Android Oreo from Android P after they downloaded and installed a new software update for the device that actually claimed to be the June security patch.
The update package itself weighed in at 1.3GB which is a little excessive for a mere security maintenance update. Many didn’t pay attention to it and it’s only after they were downgraded to Oreo did they realize what had happened.
The downgrade has resulted in many problems for them such as device and app crashes. They’re unable to use the rollback package on the Android P install page because the package happens to be older than the current build. They can’t even re-flash the original Android P image so they will have to do a factory reset to go back to Android 8.1 and then wait on HMD Global to release a proper fix which the company hasn’t said anything about so far.
