Intel Confirms They’ll Be Launching A Dedicated GPU In 2020

While onboard GPUs don’t exactly scream powerful, Intel has made some decent headway in the recent years with its Intel HD Graphics. However it seems that Intel will be stepping up their GPU game by launching a dedicated GPU in 2020. This is according to a report by Ryan Shrout at Market Watch who details an analyst event that was held last week.

During the event, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich revealed that the company was planning on launching its own discrete graphics chips by 2020, in which it would ultimately lead the company towards creating a portfolio of products for different market segments, such as gaming, data centers, and for AI.

Intel had previously hinted at their discrete GPU plans back in 2017 when they hired Raja Koduri to lead their graphics and compute initiatives. Koduri had previously worked at the graphic’s division at AMD and helped to develop and grow AMD’s Radeon brand of GPUs, so his experience in that area is no doubt a valuable one.

Unsurprisingly Intel did not dive into specifics regarding its GPU and what kind of performance and specs we might be able to expect from it. It is also unclear if Intel plans to release these GPUs under its own brand like its SSDs, or if they will license out its designs that will then be made by other manufacturers, like how MSI, Sapphire, and ASUS make GPUs based on NVIDIA and AMD’s designs.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Will Support GameCube Controllers

Earlier today during E3 2018, Nintendo officially announced Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which would be launching on the Nintendo Switch. No doubt this is great news and we’re sure that there are many gamers who are eager to get their hands on it. What’s even better news is that it looks like the GameCube’s controllers will be supported.

There are many Smash players out there who feel that the GameCube’s controllers are better for playing the game. Of course these are personal preferences, but it is obvious that this is what a good many players feel. If you do have some lying around then you will be able to use them with the game just fine.

If you don’t, there are probably some you can find online on websites such as eBay. Alternatively we have recently heard that PowerA could be making officially licensed GameCube controllers for the Switch, so that could be worth checking out if you’d prefer owning a new controller versus one that’s second hand.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is set for a release on the 7th of December. It will be the latest installment in the franchise and as its name suggests, will be the “ultimate” version of the game as it essentially brings all the characters from the franchise into a single game.

Poke Ball Plus Will Include Rare Pokemon Mew

Ahead of E3 2018, Nintendo actually announced some new Pokemon games in the form of the new Pokemon: Let’s Go series. Nintendo also announced that there would be an accessory for gamers in the form of the Poke Ball Plus which would also double up as a controller for the game.

Now it seems that Nintendo is really hoping gamers will pick up the accessory because at E3 2018, Nintendo confirmed the pricing of the accessory which is set at $50, but to sweeten the deal they have also announced that it will include a rare Pokemon in the form of Mew. This means that players will be able to have access to Mew pretty much right off the bat.

For those unfamiliar, the Poke Ball Plus is an accessory that has been designed to look like a Poke Ball. Players can use it to walk around in the game, but at the same time they can also use it to catch Pokemon by mimicking the throwing action, thus making the overall experience feel more “authentic”. The accessory will also be able to light up and vibrate like it does in the game.

It will be usable with Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, both of which are currently set for a release later this year.
