Fans of the Devil May Cry franchise have been waiting for a new addition to the series and they were certainly delighted when Capcom officially announced Devil May Cry 5 at E3 2018. It’s slated to be a true follow-up to Devil May Cry 4 which was released over a decade ago back in 2008. It’s going to be different than the spin-offs as it will basically pick up where the previous game left off when it’s released next year.
Capcom confirmed during the announcement of this title that the Devil May Cry 5 release is going to take place in spring 2019 and that the title is going to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
It has offered a more specific release timeline in a report for investors. Capcom mentions in the report that’s available on its Investor Relations page that Devil May Cry 5 is going to be released before the end of March 2019.
What that means is that Capcom wants to release the title within the ongoing fiscal year which while may boost its numbers for the ongoing financial year, won’t really matter much to fans who will only be excited about the possibility of not having to wait too long before they get to play Devil May Cry 5.

Assassin’s Creed has not been following a fixed yearly release cycle since February 2016 as the series took a year off between Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Origins. Many had appreciated the move as they believed that it was the yearly cycle that actually went against the series when it came down to sales and reception by fans. However, with Ubisoft now confirming a new Assassin’s Creed title less than a year after Origins arrived in 2017, some think that perhaps the series is going back to a fixed yearly cycle. That’s not the case, according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
Guillemot confirmed that Ubisoft has not changed its plans concerning the release cycle of Assassin’s Creed.
He said in an interview with Geoff Keighley at YouTube Live @ E3 that Assassin’s Creed won’t be going back to a yearly cycle and that Ubisoft will evaluate individual installments on a case by case basis when deciding the schedule for new Assassin’s Creed games.
He also gave a couple of reasons why the series is coming back in less than a year. First, because Ubisoft Quebec has been working on this game for three years and they’re ready to launch it now and second because Ubisoft is just now considering the brand, so some years we’ll see successive launches and but not every year.
The upcoming title is called Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and it’s going to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 5th, 2018.
