While there are countless video game franchises in the market today, Halo probably ranks as one of the more beloved ones in existence today. For those who have been looking forward to seeing what the Halo franchise has in store for them in the future, wonder no more as Microsoft has teased Halo Infinite at its E3 2018 conference.
Unfortunately Microsoft did not offer up too many details during the game’s official announcement, except that it will be a new story that will be centered around Master Chief and is also expected to continue the storyline after the events that unfolded with Halo 5. It has also been revealed that the game will be using the new Slipspace Engine that was created by 343 Industries (who took over development duties after Bungie).
This new engine is meant for use in future Halo titles and as you can see in the trailer above, it certainly looks impressive. According to Microsoft, “343 Industries stated that the game, art, and tech elements are still in progress and many of the assets and designs will certainly evolve between now and the release of the game; what fans should take away from the engine demo is the promise of the Slipspace Engine and its capabilities in powering ‘Halo Infinite’ and how the story will center on the Master Chief.”
No word on when the game will be launched, but judging by the announcement on Microsoft’s Xbox website, it seems that we could be in for a wait, although the good news is that unlike Halo 5, Halo Infinite will be launching for Windows 10 PCs alongside the Xbox One.

The Fallout franchise is one of those games that aren’t exactly household names but have definitely amassed a faithful following to have been going for years, approaching two decades even. Over time, it has grown from its PC roots to other gaming platforms but it was only with Fallout Shelter that the franchise broke out into mobile. Met with surprising … Continue reading
Nearly half-way through the year, we’re basically left waiting for only two more premium smartphones: Apple’s new iPhones and, of course, Google’s third-generartion Pixel phones. Uncharacteristically, we seem to know more about the 2018 iPhones than the Pixel 3. Or to be more precise, we’re getting a bunch of conflicting leaks that leave us scratching our head. While these might … Continue reading

Game streaming services have been around for a while, but they haven’t really quite caught on just yet as clearly many consumers seem to prefer buying their games as opposed to subscribing to such services. However it looks like Microsoft could be trying their hand at such a service anyway.
Announced on its Xbox website, it seems that Microsoft is developing its own game streaming service. “Microsoft also introduced new innovations to push digital gaming forward, including FastStart, an innovation from Microsoft’s Machine Learning Team, and plans from Microsoft’s Gaming Cloud Team to develop a game streaming service to unlock console-quality gaming on any device.”
Details are a bit scarce at this point in time, but given the wording it sounds like this means that gamers will be able to enjoy Xbox One games on any device, such as their computers, tablets, smartphones, or maybe even on other consoles. More recently we’ve seen how companies such as Capcom are using game streaming to bring games onto the Nintendo Switch with Resident Evil 7.
We’ve also seen Valve launch its Steam Link app which isn’t really a game streaming service, but functions in a similar way where it allows gamers to stream their games on their computers to their phones. No telling when this game streaming service will be launched, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.

Due to the fact that a lot of tech companies outsource the production and manufacturing of their products to countries such as China, sometimes it would be difficult to keep on top of things, such as whether or not their partners are paying their workers properly and whether or not there have been any labor violations.
Apple has run into some problems in the past and now it looks like Amazon could be facing some issues as well. In a report from The Guardian, it seems that one of Amazon’s suppliers has been found out to have violated certain labor laws where they hired an illegally high number of agency workers and found that they were not paying them properly for overtime.
This was revealed in an investigation by The Observer and the China Labor Watch. Amazon has since admitted to these violations and stated that they actually discovered these violations during an audit back in March 2018. According to Amazon, “We immediately requested a corrective action plan from Foxconn Hengyang detailing their plan to remediate the issues identified and we are conducting regular assessments to monitor for implementation and compliance with our supplier code of conduct. We are committed to ensuring these issues are resolved.”
Some of these violations include an illegal amount of overtime, where the workers at the Hengyang factory could work up to 80 hours of overtime a month, versus the 36 hours that are permitted by law.
