If you’re a fan of the Gears of War franchise, then you might be very interested to learn that Microsoft has announced a new Gears Pop! game for mobile. This will be a game based on Gears of War, obviously, except that in this case the game was created together with the folks at Funko to help develop a very cute Funko Pop! version of the franchise.
According to Microsoft, “We’re working with our friends at Funko to bring a unique mobile spin to the world of Gears. Developed in partnership with Mediatonic, Gears Pop! brings together iconic Gears characters in a cute Funko Pop! style. It’s the perfect slice of mobile mayhem.” We have to admit that the game looks really cute but exactly how well it will play remains to be seen.
However if you’re a fan of the Funko toys and have been collecting them for a while, this could be an interesting title worth checking out. The launch of Gears Pop! will also mark the first time that we’re seeing Gears of War launch on mobile. So far the game has been pretty much exclusive to consoles or the PC, so it’s interesting to see Microsoft make the shift to mobile.
Gears Pop! will be launched on both iOS and Android come 2019. If you have a minute or so to spare, you can check out the game’s trailer in the video above.
