Right-wingers are pushing America back toward an era when workers had no rights.
Time marches on and in the end, it gets us all. Back To The Future II’s sneakers, like the rest of us, are at time’s mercy. Currently offered on eBay is a single shoe (the left one) of one of the pairs of Nike Air Mags used in the production of the classic 1989 sci-fi comedy.
The back heelcup is just crumbs and the outsole completely separates from the rest of the shoe if you try and pick it up. Regardless of its distressed state, the auction has reached over $40,000 so far… for a single shoe… that is disintegrating.
You need to handle this thing like a sacred relic or it may fall apart further. It’s sad, but time gets us all in the end. Are you as depressed as I am?

HMD Global has launched quite a few handsets so far this year but it may not be done yet. A new report claims that the company has a flagship smartphone in the pipeline which will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, the chip that you find in other flagships like the Galaxy S9. The device is also believed to feature a display-based fingerprint sensor like the one found on the Vivo Nex.
HMD is said to have started working on this device codenamed A1 Plus with its manufacturing partner Foxconn. The other codenames for this device suggest that it will be made available in the European market as well.
The handset is said to feature a display-based fingerprint sensor. This will enable the company to get rid of the home button and thus opt for a larger display with a higher screen-to-body ratio. Chinese manufacturers like Vivo have already demonstrated that the technology works and is good enough to put in consumer devices so it’s only a matter of time before other OEMs like HMD Global follow suit.
The company may be working on significant camera improvements for this device as well but not much is known about its other specs at this point in time. HMD Global is expected to introduce this device in the second half of this year.

It has been quite a while since Qualcomm launched a new chip for smartwatches, more than two years to be precise. The company has announced the launch of a new chip specifically for 4G kids’ watches at Mobile World Congress Shanghai called Snapdragon Wear 2500. The company is still going to launch another Snapdragon Wear chip for conventional smartwatches later this year as it has promised to do so.
Qualcomm is targeting the growing market for kids’ smartwatches with the Snapdragon Wear 2500. It has designed the chip for low power so that it provides up to 14 percent longer battery life across active and standby modes compared to previous chips.
The chip will power devices that enable children to keep in touch with their family, learn with access to rich multimedia content, and stay fit and active throughout the day. It has support for an up to 5MP camera, LTE, and location tracking so that parents can have peace of mind.
The Snapdragon Wear 2500 platform comes with an optimized version of Android for kids’ watches. It’s based on Android Oreo and can fit in a 512MB memory footprint. It’s designed to consume less power by switching off the capabilities not needed and adds features specific to kids’ watches.
Smartwatches powered by this chip will be out later this year. Huawei is one of the first companies working with Qualcomm to develop a kids’ watch based on the Snapdragon Wear 2500.
