The lack of USB Type-C ports on the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop wasn’t much appreciated by customers and Microsoft promised that it would release a Surface USB-C dongle to address the matter. It confirmed a couple of months back that it still hasn’t forgotten about the dongle and that it would be released later this year. Microsoft has now finally confirmed the price and release date for the much-awaited Surface Type-C dongle.
A spokesperson for Microsoft confirmed to The Verge that the Surface USB Type-C dongle will be available to business customers later this week. The dongle is going to be priced at $79.99 for commercial users and it will be available to them through conventional business purchasing channels from June 29th.
The company’s dongle will connect into the Surface Connector charging port and allow users to connect their USB Type-C devices or charge using a USB Type-C charger. Microsoft has also released an image of the dongle.
However, the company hasn’t confirmed at this point in time when the USB Type-C dongle is going to be available for end consumers and when it will be available for purchase through retail stores. It’s likely that anyone will soon be able to purchase it, though, as Microsoft had also limited the Surface Pro LTE to commercial channels but it was easily available for purchase from its online store.

Google is making it easier to access its Google Lens visual search tool on its Pixel and Nexus smartphones. Users previously had to access Lens through Google Assistant but it’s going to be much easier now that Lens has been baked into the camera apps for the Pixel and Pixel 2 as well as certain Nexus and Android One smartphones.
Google had previously confirmed at I/O 2018 last month that it would add its visual search tool to third-party camera apps. It was obviously expected that the company would add Lens to the camera app on its own smartphones as well.
Google Lens in the Google Camera app will now be just another mode like the Portrait, AR Stickers, and Slow Motion modes. It can be accessed from the navigation drawer and once the mode is selected, it brings up the same Lens experience that can be accessed through Assistant.
Users can then tap anywhere on the screen to start searching and results will load in the panel below which also contains a microphone icon which lets them launch voice search. Users can return to the live camera viewfinder by simply tapping the back button. Similar camera-app based Lens experiences are already available on a variety of handsets from manufacturers like Sony, LG, and Motorola.
The latest Google Camera update which adds Lens to camera modes is now available for the Pixel, Pixel 2, select Nexus and Android One devices.

Fans of ‘The Predator’ movie will be excited to hear that there’s a new trailer out for the upcoming movie. Shane Black’s upcoming Predator movie is due to hit the big screen later this year. The trailer carries over the tone of the original Predator movie but the trailer reveals that there’s going to be a twist in the new movie.
The trailer reveals that a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier Quinn finds a crashed Predator ship with a very angry Predator still lurking around. After Quinn’s entire squad is wiped out, he and the Predator are sent to a secret military facility where they mistakenly try to cut open the alien which only results in havoc.
It then falls upon Quinn and his team of Special Forces soldiers to fight the Predator in a bid to take him out. The trailer shows that this will be easier said than done for the boys. It’s certainly going to leave fans wanting for more.
The upcoming Predator movie from Shane Black, a cast member from the original movie, is going to hit the big screen on September 13th. We’ll likely get to see a couple of more teasers and trailers before then.
