Gaming controllers over the years have undergone various design changes. There are reasons for this, such as being more ergonomic, or maybe catering to the needs of gamers, or maybe going in a completely new direction (like the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons). However there are some classic controller designs that are still popular even today.
A good example of this would be the Nintendo GameCube controllers which until today, are still very popular amongst gamers, so much so that the folks at Hori have announced that they will be releasing GameCube-style controllers this coming October. As you can see in the image above, the controllers will be available in three different colors themed around different Nintendo franchises.
For the most part the controllers have been designed to look like the GameCube controllers in terms of look and feel, but there will be some extra face buttons in the middle, as well as four shoulder buttons since they have been designed for the Nintendo Switch in mind. Also note that the controllers are wired so if you are hoping for wireless gameplay then these aren’t the controllers for you.
This is actually not the first time we’re seeing GameCube-style controllers for the Switch, and the good news is that if you think Super Smash Bros. benefits from the GameCube controllers, note that Nintendo has stated that the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will support GameCube controllers.

Blizzard’s Warcraft universe has a pretty long and rich history, thanks to story that the developers have crafted, the stories from the books, and also World of Warcraft which is continuously expanding on the overall story. This also means that those new to Warcraft have a lot of catching up to do.
For those who are new to the game or who want to explore a bit more of the game’s lore and its characters, you might want to check out the latest Warbringers short that Blizzard released. Blizzard has released various animated shorts in the past for some of the key characters in the game so this release is not surprising.
This animated short however will focus on Jaina Proudmoore, who some might be familiar with as being one of the key characters in the Alliance. She was also once friends and allies with Arthas who later became the Lich King. According to the description of the short, “Jaina Proudmoore is no stranger to making difficult decisions. In this animated short, the choices of her past continue to influence her future.”
If you have about 5 minutes or so to spare, then this could be worth checking out. We expect that there will be more Warbringers shorts released in the near future leading up to the launch of the Battle for Azeroth expansion which is due next month.

Earlier this year Google released the developer preview of Android P, the next major update scheduled for Android. The company has since released multiple developer previews and the good news is that if you’ve been hoping that the update will be released soon, you’ll be pleased to learn that it’s now one step closer to that reality.
In a post on the Android Developers Blog, Google has announced that the latest and final preview for Android P has been released. What this means is that following this release, there will be no more developer previews and that the next time we see an Android release it will be for the official version of Android P, which at the moment still does not have an official name, although presumably it will be version Android 9.0.
According to Google, “Android P is almost here! As we put the finishing touches on the new platform, today we’re bringing you Android P Beta 4. Beta 4 is the last preview milestone before we launch the official Android P platform later this summer.” There is still no official release date for the final version, but we can only assume that this will be dependent on how well this final preview goes and if there might be any last minute issues.
However based on Google’s previous Android releases where it was around late August, hopefully that’s when the official release of Android P will take place as well.
