HMD Global Confirms Nokia X5 Will See A Global Release

Owing to the demand of different markets, it’s not surprising that sometimes some companies choose to release certain products for certain markets, while leaving out others. However the good news for Nokia fans is that it looks like HMD Global has decided that the Nokia X5 will be launching worldwide.

This is according to a tweet by HMD Global’s Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas in which he responded to a tweet by a fan who asked that the Nokia X5 be released outside of China. Based on his response, it sounds like there are plans to take the phone worldwide, but unfortunately he does not mention when that will be.

This is actually not the first time that HMD Global has conducted interest checks for its phones. A couple of months ago the company took a poll on Twitter to see if there was interest in the Nokia X6 launching worldwide, and sure enough there was, but like we said when exactly the launch will take place is anyone’s guess.

For those unfamiliar with the Nokia X5, the phone is a mid-ranger featuring the use of MediaTek’s Helio P60 chipset and will be accompanied by 3-4GB of RAM. We’re also talking about a dual camera setup on the back, an 8MP front-facing camera, a 3,060mAh battery, and will come with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters Official Trailer

If monster movies are your favorite kind of movie to watch, then you might have already been keeping an eye out for the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters movie. The good news is that now we have an idea of what to expect as the official trailer for the upcoming movie has since been released.

According to the trailer’s description of the movie, “The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.  When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”

This is the sequel to 2014’s Godzilla which was very well-received so we imagine that there is a bit of hype and anticipation surrounding this movie. However it seems that despite this being the so-called sequel, it will feature a new cast of characters, such as Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Ken Watanabe, and more. The movie is currently set for a release in 2019 so in the meantime hopefully this trailer will be able to help keep you excited for it.

Sony Unveils New 48MP Image Sensor For Smartphones

Our smartphone cameras have come a very, very long way since cameras were introduced to phones in general. Not only do smartphone cameras these days feature faster autofocus, they also come with image stabilization, the ability to capture videos in 4K, and more. Now it looks like Sony will be kicking things up a notch.

The company has recently unveiled a brand new image sensor for smartphones which would effectively give smartphones a 48MP sensor. According to Sony, they boast that the new high megapixel count means that smartphone cameras now have the potential to rival high-end SLR cameras, although we should point out that there’s more to a good photo than just a high megapixel count.

According to Sony, they claim that this new sensor will be adopting the Quad Bayer array which boasts both high sensitivity and high resolution. They also claim that the new sensor will allow for four times greater dynamic range than earlier models. However Sony does not mention when this new sensor will be debuting in phones.

However we should also note that Sony supplies sensors to many smartphone makers, such as Apple, so we wouldn’t be surprised if some of Sony’s customers were to take the company up on their offer and start including this new sensor in future handsets.
