Lyft Launches A New Personal Plan For Riders

Humans are creatures of habit and with work and school, we tend to settle into a routine. Some way routines are good, some say that they’re bad, but if you’re someone who takes Lyft rides frequently, then routines might be a good thing since it can save you money. This is because Lyft, just like Uber, has launched a personal plan.

What does this personal plan entail? Basically if you know that every month you will be taking a ride to and from a particular destination, like to work or school, you can sign up for a personal plan where for a cheaper price, you can get a set number of rides to said location. This price is locked in which means that regardless of the time, you will pay that fee, which means that you get to avoid things like surge pricing.

However there will be a limit of up to $25 per ride, meaning that you won’t be able to abuse the lower prices and travel further. This price will vary from customer to customer depending on how far it is and how many rides per month they think that they will need, and will. Customers won’t need to be locked into a contract either as this plan can be easily cancelled anytime.

The new personal plan is being rolled across the US today so if you are a Lyft user, you can go ahead and check it out.

Harley-Davidson’s Electric Motorcycle Will Debut In 2019

For the most part when you think about powerful vehicles like supercars and superbikes, you wouldn’t necessarily consider them to be fuel efficient. After all the focus on these vehicles would be their raw power, which would no doubt take a lot of fuel to power to begin with. However over the years we’ve started seeing some of these companies create more “green” alternatives.

In fact bike maker Harley-Davidson has expressed their interest in creating electric motorcycles, which we now know is expected to make its debut in 2019. The company’s bikes have been known to be gas guzzlers but come 2019, it will mark the company’s push into creating electric motorcycles, which Harley-Davidson admits will raise some eyebrows, but they reckon that it will be a positive thing. Harley-Davidson announced their plans to get into electric bikes back in 2014 with Project Livewire, so if anything this was a long time coming.

According to Matt Levatich, president and chief executive officer, Harley-Davidson, “The bold actions we are announcing today leverage Harley-Davidson’s vast capabilities and competitive firepower – our excellence in product development and manufacturing, the global appeal of the brand and of course, our great dealer network. Alongside our existing loyal riders, we will lead the next revolution of two-wheeled freedom to inspire future riders who have yet to even think about the thrill of riding.”

Logitech Announces They’ll Be Acquiring Blue Microphones

Logitech is home to a variety of peripherals mostly designed for the PC. This comes in the form of keyboards, mice, webcams, speakers, and so on. However if there is something that Logitech seems to be missing from its lineup, it would be a series of dedicated microphones. However it looks like that problem has been solved.

Logitech has announced that they will be acquiring Blue Microphones, who for those unfamiliar is a company that specializes in creating studio-quality microphones. While the microphones have been used by musicians, we imagine that in this day and age where live streaming can be a lucrative career, these microphones could be used and appreciated by streamers as well.

According to John Maier, Blue Microphones CEO, “Blue and Logitech have a lot in common. Both companies work at being small, fast and hungry, crafting great products with cutting-edge design and technology. We’re an established leader in the broadcasting space with a strong product portfolio. Logitech has design at its heart, tech know-how and global reach. Together we can do amazing things.”

It is unclear as to what will become to Blue Microphones upon successful acquisition, and whether or not Logitech will keep the company running separately or fold them into Logitech. The acquisition is said to be worth $117 million in cash and is expected to be closed by the end of August 2018.

Dual SIM iPhones Hinted At In Latest iOS 12 Beta

For those who travel, having a phone that supports dual SIM is a great idea because not only does this mean one less device to bring around, but it also means that they can still receive messages and calls on their other number while using their new SIM card. Unfortunately this is something that iPhone users have had to live without for the past decade or so.

However the good news is that could change soon. According to the latest iOS 12 beta, the folks at 9to5Mac have discovered that a dual SIM iPhone could be in the works. This is thanks to code string which references “second SIM status” and “second SIM tray status”, all of which has led to speculation that a dual SIM iPhone could be in development.

Interestingly enough this is actually not the first time we’ve heard rumors of a dual SIM iPhone, and this latest reference seems to suggest that this could be coming soon. It is unclear when this could happen, but hopefully it will be with 2018’s iPhones. So far there have not been many mentions of a dual SIM iPhone, but as the reference suggests, it could be coming soon.

Either way we’ll find out soon enough as Apple is expected to officially announce their new iPhones come September, so check back with us then for more updates.

Google Calendar Now Makes It Easier To Reschedule Meetings

Google Calendar is a great tool if you’re looking to schedule a meeting, but what if you needed to reschedule said meeting? For those who rely on Google Calendar to keep them up to date with their meetings, Google has introduced a new update that will make rescheduling meetings a lot easier.

According to Google, “Rescheduling in Google Calendar just got easier. We’re introducing a new feature that enables more efficient meeting scheduling. Now, each guest invited to a meeting can propose a new time and the organizer can easily review and accept time proposals. This allows for richer communication between attendees, reduces time spent on meeting practicalities, and makes meetings more productive with key stakeholders in attendance.”

When users are invited to a Calendar event, in addition to choosing “Yes”, “No”, or “Maybe”, they will now have a new option which is, “Propose a new time”. This means that if a user is invited to a meeting on a day that they’re busy, they can click that option to choose a new time and date.

Assuming that permissions have also been granted to users, they will be able to see the availability of other attendees which means that the user can then try to pick a new time and date that suits everyone. When a new time has been proposed, it will then be sent to the organizer who can accept it with a single click. The changes have yet to be rolled out and according to Google, it should be available come 13th August.
