Power Mountain power bank carries 50,000mAh of juice

power-mountainThe modern day road warrior does carry a whole lot of mobile devices around, and these tend to run out of juice along the way, especially during a particularly hectic day when the device is accessed all too frequently. This has transformed the traditional power bank into something that is an essential item not to be forgotten when traveling, and the larger the capacity, the better. The Power Mountain certainly lives up to its name, where it lays claim to being the fastest and lightest 50,000mAh portable power bank in the world. Just what can 50,000mAh of portable juice do for you?

That translates to being able to charge up your iPhone 7/8 a good 17 full times, 10 full charges when it concerns the Samsung Galaxy S7/8, 7 full charges for those who love bringing their Nintendo Switch around, and even up to 2 full charges for a MacBook Pro. The entire Power Mountain tips the scales at a lightweight 1.89lbs while fitting into the palm of one’s hand, making portable charging quick and easy while one is on-the-go, in a boring boardroom meeting, in the great outdoors, or simply chilling out at home.

With USB-C Power Delivery, it is able to charge connected devices up to 9 times faster compared to traditional chargers. In addition, the Power Mountain comes with a powerful LED light that will be handy whenever there is an emergency, or when you simply need an impromptu torch. The ladies would appreciate this as they rummage through their handbag at night or in the cinema, looking for a particular item within.

There are 3 ports that accompany the Power Mountain which offers simultaneous charging (Output: Auto IC 5V/2.4A, Input/Output: Type-C PD 45W max, Output: Auto-IC 5V/2.4A), while a digital battery level indicator makes it easy to see just how many charges left it carries. Made out of shock-resistant aluminum, the cover is also drip- and dust-proof, while its design doubles up as a smartphone/tablet stand. Expect the Power Mountain to arrive in black or silver colors with an asking price of $180 a pop.

Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 Will Only Run For 10 Episodes

For the most part, Netflix’s original TV series usually runs for about 13 episodes per season. However it appears that with the upcoming season 2 of Marvel’s Iron Fist, Netflix will be breaking protocol and will launch the second season with only 10 episodes, 3 episodes shorter than all the other Marvel TV series that have been released to date.

However this does not mean that Netflix has lost their confidence with Iron Fist (which admittedly did not receive the same favorable reviews as its counterparts). Instead Netflix seems to be addressing some of its critics who feel that the platform’s shows have a pacing issue, so by scaling it back it should help the story progress faster.

Cindy Holland, Netflix’s VP of original programming commented on this during the Television Critics Association summer press tour where she was quoted as saying, “In some of the earlier negotiations and deals that we did with third-party studios, we were sort of hamstrung a little bit by the convention of the 13-episode cable series pattern. And if you look at the content that we’ve been making out of Netflix Studios and even with third-party partners now, often the seasons are generally no more than 10 episodes.”

Will this result in a better and faster-paced Iron Fist? We guess we’ll have to wait and see. Iron Fist’s second season is currently scheduled for a launch on the 7th of September.

WhatsApp Group Calling Feature Is Now Live

During Facebook’s F8 keynote from a couple of months ago, the company announced some new features that would be coming to WhatsApp, such as group calling. As the name implies, group calling is where users can call groups of friends together at once, and it works with both voice and video.

The good news is that if this sounds like a feature that you’ve been looking forward to, you’ll be pleased to learn that the feature is now live and available to all. According to WhatsApp, “Over the last couple years, people have enjoyed making voice and video calls on WhatsApp. In fact, our users spend over 2 billion minutes on calls per day. We’re excited to announce that group calls for voice and video are coming to WhatsApp starting today.”

WhatsApp also reassures users that just like their messages, group calls are encrypted end-to-end, so those who are worried about privacy or WhatsApp recording their call sessions, worry not. “Group calls are always end-to-end encrypted, and we’ve designed calling to work reliably around the world in different network conditions.”

This feature is available on both the iOS and Android versions of WhatsApp, so update your app to the latest version and you should be able to see it.

Fujifilm X-T3 Will Launch With New Vertical Battery Grip

According to the latest rumors from back in April, Fujifilm is expected to launch a successor to the X-T2 in 2019 in the form of the X-T3 which is expected to be announced at Photokina 2019. This means that it will be much later in 2019 before we see the camera (if at all), but it hasn’t stopped the rumors from spreading.

According to the latest rumor from Fuji Rumors, it seems that the X-T3 is expected to be launched with a new vertical battery grip. We’re not sure what so new about it, maybe better ergonomics, weight, etc., but there will apparently be a new model available for the X-T3. There is no mention as to whether or not it will be backwards compatible with the X-T1 or the X-T2.

Given that Fujifilm’s mirrorless cameras are notorious for having poor battery life compared to the competition, a vertical battery grip should solve that. However for those who’d rather not deal with the bulk of a battery grip, Fuji Rumors had also previously reported that the X-T3 is expected to feature improved battery performance, but exactly how much better remains to be seen.

Other X-T3 rumors include a possible touchscreen display, a 26MP APS-C X-Trans sensor, a new X-Processor, and possibly a stacked sensor. Take it with a grain of salt for now but since we’re more than a year away from its rumored announcement, we expect more details to surface in the coming months.
