Taiko Drum Controllers Will Be Skipping The Western Market

Earlier this year Bandai Namco announced a new Taiko Drum Master game, and for a while fans in western markets were disappointed to learn that the game would only be released in Japan. However just last week Bandai Namco announced that the game would be released in the west for both the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

This would come in the form of Taiko No Tatsujin: Drum Session (PS4) and Drum ‘n’ Fun (Switch). Unfortunately for gamers who are hoping that the Taiko Drum Controller (see image above) would also be finding its way to the US or Europe, you’ll be disappointed to learn that Bandai Namco will not be releasing them in the west, at least not at the moment.

The company has confirmed that they currently do not have plans to bring the controllers to the west which is admittedly disappointing, but who knows, perhaps they might have a change of heart in the future. In the meantime for gamers who want to get their hands on the controller, you’ll need to import it yourself.

That being said, Switch gamers do have an advantage which is that they can use their Joy-Cons to play on air/imaginary drums, whereas PS4 gamers will pretty much have to rely on their DualShock 4 controllers. Both Taiko No Tatsujin: Drum Session and Drum ‘n’ Fun are currently set for a release on the 2nd of November, 2018.

A Dungeons & Dragons Supplement Makes Your Players Feel Like Witchers

100 Monster Hunts is a simple idea. As a Dungeon Master, you can roll on a giant table and get a random “monster hunt,” or a small designed encounter with a monster. Players then go deal with that monster. It’s clean, it’s simple, and it’s helpful.

Pixel 3 XL Clearly White is very white, has a big chin

When Google launched its first “made by Google” Pixel phones nearly two years ago, it was pretty bold. Not just in the new way it would conduct its business but even in the design of the smartphones themselves. For two generations, the Pixel phones have carried very visible and distinct two-tone colors on their backs. For the Pixel 3 XL, … Continue reading

Xioami Pocophone F1 could be another gaming phone

Fans of Xiaomi in the US have begrudged the company’s still unfulfilled promise of bringing its dirt cheap but quality phones to their market. The recently leaked Pocophone F1, headed to Europe among other markets, may have made them feel all the more left out. If high-end specs weren’t enough, however, the still formally unnamed smartphone may have yet another … Continue reading

Alleged DJI Mavic 2 Photos & Details Leaked

We have been hearing rumors that DJI is working on a new drone in the form of the Mavic 2. Now thanks to a render obtained by the folks at Photo Rumors, we have a better idea of what the upcoming drone could look like. The render also also seems to corroborate a leaked image from earlier this month in terms of its design.

However it seems that’s not all. In a report from Drone DJ, what looks like a newspaper advertisement has also revealed some specs of the upcoming Mavic 2, namely how it will be offered in two variants: the Mavic 2 Zoom and the Mavic 2 Pro. The differences would be in the camera systems that are offered.

With the Mavic 2 Zoom, as the name implies this will feature a camera with 2x optical zoom from 24mm to 48mm. As for the Mavic 2 Pro, it seems that this will feature a 1-inch CMOS sensor and a camera with Hasselblad’s branding. We’re not sure to what extent DJI’s partnership with Hasselblad is that resulted in this camera, so this is something we’ll just have to wait and see. There is even an accompanying description of the drones which reads:

“The Mavic 2 is a small yet powerful drone with 1080p video transmission and up to 8km (5 miles) transmission distance and a max speed of 20m/s (45mph). It will turn the sky into your creative canvas. Its compact size and 31-minute max flight time makes this one of DJI’s most sophisticated flying cameras ever. Omnidirectional obstacle sensing with APAS and Active Track 2.0 give you the confidence to take to the sky and capture your moment. Dolly Zoom (zoom version only). DJI Mavic 2 Pro & DJI Mavic 2 Zoom.”

No word on pricing or availability we imagine that based on these leaks the official announcement shouldn’t be too far behind.

Tesla’s Latest Product Is A Surfboard

Tesla is a company known for various “green” products, such as electric cars, solar roof tiles, battery packs for the home, and so on. Now it looks like the company is back with its latest zero-emission “vehicle” which comes in the form of a surfboard. We’re not sure if this is a gag product or just one made for fun, but it’s real.

According to Tesla’s description of the surface, “Designed by the Tesla Design Studio in collaboration with Lost Surfboards and Matt ‘Mayhem’ Biolos, surfboard shaper for World Surf League Championship athletes. The Limited Edition Tesla Surfboard features a mix of the same high-quality matte and gloss finishes used on all our cars. The deck is reinforced with light-weight ‘Black Dart’ carbon fiber, inspired by the interiors in our cars, and featuring tonal logos in subtle contrast gloss.”

Unsurprisingly given that this surfboard bears the Tesla branding, it does not come cheap at $1,500. This is rather expensive when you consider that the average surfboard goes for less than half that price, or in some case for entry-level models they might be considerably cheaper, but hey, how many of them have the official Tesla branding, right?

Now Tesla says that these surfboards can fit into a Model S, X, and 3 and that they will be a limited run product of 200 units. They are all made-to-order and will be shipping out in 2-10 weeks. At this time of writing it appears that they have all been sold out. We’re not sure if this overwhelming demand might prompt Tesla to produce more, but for now it looks like you’d be out of luck if you wanted to get your hands on one.

Philips Adore Brings Smart Lighting To The Bathroom Mirror

Philips has its Hue smart lighting system which lets users install smart light bulbs into lamps, into light holders, and more. They also have smart LED lightstrips which does the same thing, except in lightstrip form which allows for more flexibility when it comes to choosing parts of the house to light up.

Now more recently, it seems that Philips has decided to venture into more integrated lighting solutions with the Philips Adore. As you can see in the image above, this is a bathroom mirror which basically takes advantage of Philips’ smart lighting system. This means that users will be able to control it using their mobile device, and given that it is also HomeKit compatible, it means that it can be automated.

For example the lights can be set to turn themselves on or off at certain times in the day, such as in the morning or at night, and might be useful if you’re particularly forgetful as you can get it to turn itself off. Unfortunately unlike the Hue lighting system which for the most part is known for its colorful RGB lighting, the Adore mirror only offers a “soft glow” and “cool white daylight” depending on your preference.

Then again we’re not sure if many people want their bathroom mirrors to start glowing green, pink, or purple anyway. The mirror itself offers a IP44 rating which means that it can survive some splashing and general humidity you might expect from a bathroom. It also measures 20-inches across. As for pricing, that was not mentioned but hopefully we’ll learn more soon.
