Star Wars Gaming Chairs: For The Dark Side of Your Backside

If the Dark Side played video games, these would be the chairs that they would sit their evil butts in. You can sit your butt in them too, regardless of which side of The Force you’re aligned with. Whether you are playing Star Wars Battlefront or watching the original trilogy, now you can do it in style.

These comfy looking Darth Vader and Stormtrooper Gaming Chairs are for fans who want to show off their love for all things Star Wars. The curvy, low-to-the-ground seats feature a plywood and hardwood frame with polyurethane, PVC, and polyester upholstery over a cotton cushion with foam fill. They each have four built-in speakers, Bluetooth 4.1 technology for wireless audio streaming, a control panel, and an audio output and audio input jacks.

They will cost you $335 each from PBTeen. Not bad for an Imperial chair. I would get both because Vader should always have a Stormtrooper sitting around to do his bidding. Obviously, these chairs are for serious Star Wars fans only, given the price and the fact that these are huge Star Wars toys to have in your home. I would love to get both.

New iPad Pro Lineup Might Ditch The Headphone Jack

Ever since Apple ditched the standard 3.5mm headphone jack on recent iPhone models there has been speculation that the company will do this for its other mobile devices as well. A new report has surfaced which claims that the upcoming iPad Pro lineup is not only going to be slightly smaller than its predecessor but will also ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The iPad Pro lineup due next year will reportedly see its dimensions being reduced a little for both the 10.5 inch and 12.9 inch models. The report also reiterates earlier rumors that the new iPad lineup is going to feature FaceID. A recent iOS 12 beta also revealed that there’s a big possibility that this biometric access control system might arrive with the next generation of Apple’s tablet.

The new iPad Pro models might be designed for vertical use as FaceID will reportedly not work when the tablet is in landscape mode. It may also adjust the positions of the Lightning connector and the smart connector for the keyboard for this purpose.

It is as yet unclear when Apple is going to unveil these new tablets. There have been a lot of reports and rumors about them in recent months and they will likely continue in the days to come.

YouTube Planning Original Programming For International Markets

YouTube Premium is the company’s own paid subscription service which provides subscribers with access to original programming in addition to other perks. The original programming has so far been limited for the U.S. market but the company is now thinking about making content for international markets as well. A senior YouTube executive has said that the company is working on scripted series and another original programming for markets such as France, Japan, Germany, Mexico, and India.

It sees this as a way to bring in new subscribers for YouTube Premium. Other online streaming services such as Netflix have largely relied upon original content to drive subscribers as well.

Susanne Daniels, YouTube’s global head of original programming, said that the original content that the company will create for other markets will be divided in multiple genres such as music documentaries, talk shows, reality series, and scripted series. The content will be produced in local languages of the relevant markets and will also be dubbed or subtitled for other markets.

Some of this original content will be limited to YouTube Premium while some will be available for anyone and everyone on YouTube which is ad-supported. YouTube is going to reveal more details about its new slate of international original content in the coming weeks.

‘Pixel Stand’ Might Transform A Google Smartphone Into A Smart Speaker

Google has teamed up with OEMs to launch Smart Displays, its rival to the Amazon Echo. The first Smart Displays have been made by Lenovo and they will soon be available for purchase. It appears that Google may also offer a cheaper alternative to customers who pick up its upcoming Pixel smartphone. An accessory called the “Pixel Stand” might enable the new Google smartphone to essentially double as a smart speaker.

Some evidence has surfaced after the latest version of the Google app beta was decompiled. It contains a few lines of code about a Pixel Stand which mention what users will see on the screen when they dock their handset.

One line of code mentions that if the user allows their smartphone to recognize the Pixel Stand as a trusted dock, they will be able to call up Assistant even when the smartphone is locked. Assistant will then be able to access their information, provide recommendations, and do tasks in response to voice commands much in the way a Google Home device would.

It appears that Google might offer the Pixel Stand as a special wireless charging dock for the Pixel 3 when the handset is released later this year. It would eliminate the need for users to buy a separate smart speaker in the event that they don’t need more than one.
