Update To LinkedIn Now Lets Users Leave Voice Messages

Back in the day before instant messenger apps were around and before SMS became popular, the only way you could reach someone is either you call them or leave a voice message if they did not come to the phone. These days it’s a lot more efficient to just leave a regular text message which the other person can respond to at their own leisure.

Now for those who do appreciate voice messages and think that for whatever reason it might be better, you’ll be pleased to learn that LinkedIn is now supporting the ability to leave voice messages. “Whether you’re responding while walking or multitasking, or need to give an in-depth explanation, voice messages let you more easily and quickly communicate in your own voice with your connections.”

According to LinkedIn, the benefits of using voice messages is that it’s faster than typing. They claim that people speak about four times faster than they type, which means that if you have a particularly long message, using voice messages might be more efficient. They also claim that it allows users to better express themselves, which is admittedly true.

Sometimes some messages might be misinterpreted as text messages don’t convey the tone of your voice, which is what voice messages can do. Using the feature is pretty straightforward and all users need to do is get their hands on the latest version of the app and they’ll be good to go.

Pixel 2 XL’s Slow Unlocking Issue To Be Fixed

A lot of flagship smartphones these days are boasting that their phones are being powered by the latest chipsets and packing a ton of RAM (some are even rumored to be packing as much as 10GB), but if you can’t even access the contents on your phone in a timely manner, what’s the point, right?

Unfortunately for some Pixel 2 XL owners, it seems that some of them are experiencing an issue with the lock screen where they are encountering a lag after unlocking the screens of their phones. The good news is that if you were one of those affected, it seems that Google is aware of the issue and has confirmed that a fix is in the works.

For those unfamiliar with the problem, basically some Pixel 2 XL owners were reporting that following an Android security update that was released in June, they started to experience an issue where after they unlocked the screen of their phones, there was a bit of a lag which we imagine is pretty annoying.

According to Google, “The problem was caused as a side effect of a fix introduced in June SMR in order to fix cases of bright flashes before entering Always On Display for displays on certain (isolated) devices. The fix will be reverted in July SMR to address the slow unlock regression. A proper fix for the original issue which won’t cause slow unlock side effect will be available on P release”
