Google has teamed up with manufacturers to develop smart displays that can compete with the likes of the Amazon Echo Show. The first such device has been made by Lenovo and it will be available for purchase this week. The Smart Display from Lenovo brings the Google Assistant experience to an interactive screen for an enhanced visual experience.
The Lenovo Smart Display has Google Assistant baked in so it provides all of the features and services that users would expect, including but not limited to YouTube, Google Maps, Duo, Photos, and Calendar. All of the information is surfaced on the touchscreen display while Assistant can also be controlled through voice commands.
The biggest advantage of having a display on this Assistant-powered device is that users can just ask it to play a video from YouTube and it will happily oblige. Those who have a YouTube TV membership will also be able to watch live or recorded TV without needing a remote control.
The addition of Google Duo brings video calling to the Lenovo Smart Display. A simple voice command will have the device making a video call to friends and family. It can also double as an always-on digital photo album courtesy of Google Photos.
The Lenovo Smart Display will be available in 8 inch HD and 10 inch full HD versions for $199.99 and $249.99 respectively. Both have a full-range 10 watt speaker for clear sound. It will be available for purchase in the United States this week from Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Lenovo.com, and other retailers.

Alto’s Adventure was a very popular mobile game that was as calming as it was fun. Developer Snowman confirmed earlier this year that it would be releasing a sequel called Alto’s Odyssey. The game has been out for iOS devices since February this year and it been a long wait for Alto’s fans on Android. The wait finally ends for them today as Alto’s Odyssey has been released for Android.
Alto’s Adventure had players skiing down slopes complete with beautiful backdrops and relaxing music. They had to collect as many coins as they could while trying to rack up big scores by doing tricks.
The gameplay will be similar in Alto’s Odyssey as well but it brings new challenges such as obstacles and natural hazards to avoid. Grind rails that shift have been added as well which will make it more challenging for players to rack up those points. Several new backdrops have been added as well.
Alto’s Odyssey, an endless runner title, is free to play on Android even though it costs $4.99 on iOS. There are some in-app purchases, though, which are optional. The game has been published so it’s live now and available for download from the Google Play Store.

Samsung has two flagship lineups that it updates annually, the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. It was rumored back in 2013 that Samsung was working on another high-end smartphones series called the Galaxy F. Nothing came of it and five years on, the company has kept its Galaxy Note and Galaxy S series while the Galaxy F is nowhere to be found. It has now been rumored that Samsung has perhaps started working on the Galaxy F once again.
This has been rumored by a China-based leaker who claims that the Galaxy F is a new high-end series that Samsung is working on. No further information has been provided at this point in time about this seemingly new flagship series that Samsung has in the pipeline.
It’s interesting to note that the Galaxy F has popped up around the same time that Samsung is believed to be preparing its foldable smartphone. That’s believed to be a flagship-level smartphone as well.
While it has commonly been referred to as the Galaxy X, if Samsung is going to introduce this new flagship brand, what better device would there be than the company’s first foldable smartphone.
This is just an unsubstantiated rumor at this point, though, so it would be best to take it with a grain of salt until there’s more to go on.
