Russia’s not made any secret of its stance on the LGBTQ+ community. It’s banned comics, gotten rid of statues and has taken issue with gay emojis, all in the name of its “gay propaganda” law, passed in 2013. Now, companies that want to operate in the…

Just a short while ago, Huawei hosted a keynote address at IFA 2018 centered around mobile AI. During this keynote, it made a pretty big announcement by revealing the Kirin 980 system on a chip (SoC). Huawei bills this as the first commercial SoC built on TSMC’s 7nm process, and because of that design, it should bring some big boosts … Continue reading
Huawei has launched an LTE-connected smart speaker and router, the Huawei AI Cube, complete with Alexa built-in, but the weirdest thing about it is the shape. Making its debut at IFA 2018 today, the Alexa speaker may be called a cube, but in fact it’s a stubby cylinder. Huawei does say the design may change before launch, but what shouldn’t … Continue reading
The AI Cube isn’t Huawei’s only unusual connected gadget revealed at IFA 2018, with the Huawei Locator also making its debut. Joining the competitive beacon segment, the compact dongle promises better positioning courtesy of using actual satellite location data, rather than triangulating its position through Bluetooth as some rivals do. So, Huawei has squeezed GPS and A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and … Continue reading
There is a conspiracy theory in which some believe that your smartphone is listening to you, in which some have discovered some crazy coincidences about how something they were just talking about appeared as an ad on their phone. Now in an interesting reversal, it seems that the ads we see online are being tracked to see whether we end up making a purchase offline.
In a report from Bloomberg, the publication has exposed an alleged deal that Google and Mastercard have struck up, in which basically in order to see the effectiveness of online ads, Mastercard would supply Google with purchase information. How it works is that when a user browses a web using their Google account, Google will log the ads that they come across and click.
However if an offline purchase is made in the next 30 days using a Mastercard credit/debit card, Google will then alert the advertiser via a report about the effectiveness of the ad, and will also include an “offline revenue” section that will take that sale in account. This deal with Mastercard is said to have cost Google millions, although neither company has officially announced or confirmed this partnership.
That being said, Google has recently come under fire recently for its location tracking feature, in which they did not make it clear that users had to do more than just disable location tracking if they want to opt out of it completely. In the meantime companies such as Apple and Mozilla have plans to block ad trackers by default, where they will prevent these trackers from tracking users across multiple websites.

#IFA18 – When the Huawei P20 Pro was launched, we suppose that triple camera setup on the back was what caught everyone’s attention, but at the same time we can’t help but feel that one of the finishes offered by Huawei was also what drew many eyes to the phone, at least as far as the design was concerned.
Ahead of IFA 2018, it was reported that the company had plans to introduce new color options, and sure enough those rumors have since been proven true. These new color options include the morpho aurora that has been named after the morpho butterfly, a finish that will change color depending on the angle and the light that you are viewing it from.
There will also be a new Mother of Pearl option that also offers up some slight color-changes (if you’ve seen cars that have been painted in pearl, you know what we’re talking about), then there will also be leather options which will be offered in black or brown color options, with Huawei boasting a classic Italian hand-crafted Pamelatto finish.
Now these are just more than a new look, at least as far as the leather versions are concerned. The leather P20 Pro models will actually sport 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, an upgrade over the regular P20 Pro, and they are also expected to be priced higher at €999. All the new color options are also expected to be available starting from the 5th of September.

Back in May, EA announced Battlefield V, the next installment in the Battlefield franchise. They also announced release date for the game which was for the 19th of October. Unfortunately for fans of Battlefield and for those looking forward to Battlefield V, it appears that the game has since been delayed to the 20th of November instead.
This is according to a statement issued by DICE, the game’s developer, where the company’s General Manager Oskar Gabrielson wrote, “We’re going to take the time to continue to make some final adjustments to core gameplay, and to ensure we really deliver on the potential of Tides of War. We know moving the launch date means that we all have to wait a little longer. But we’re going to take our time to make sure we get it right.”
While “final adjustments” seems to be DICE’s official stance, there are some who are speculating that the change in date could be because of the launch of Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which is set for the 12th of October, a week ahead of Battlefield V’s original release date.
Releasing such similar games back to back might not be the best idea as players don’t have the time to play both games at once, plus gamers might not want to spend too much money all at once. Either way gamers will just have to remain patient, but given that the delay is only a month long, all things considered it’s not too bad of a wait.
