“That’s really a shame.”
Amid increasing scrutiny of Amazon’s treatment of its fulfillment center workers—including an April report which alleged that workers are sometimes forced to pee in bottles rather than take bathroom breaks—it seems the company has decided to go on the offense. According to the rumors of the upcoming Google Pixel 3, it will feature dual front-facing cameras, which thanks to leaks we have seen how it will look like. It is unclear what Google plans to use the dual cameras for, but according to a report from 9to5Google, it seems that their sources have revealed some of Google’s plans.
If their sources are accurate, then it seems that the point of the dual selfie cameras is to allow users to snap “Super Selfies” which apparently is what the feature is being referred to. Their sources have also all separately confirmed that at least one of the lenses on the front-facing camera will be of the wide-angle variety.
This is not the first time that we’re seeing smartphones with dual front-facing cameras, although to use it purely just to take selfies does seem a bit of a “waste” of technology. However based on a recent APK teardown, there is mention of a possible feature called “Face Match” which seems to hint at some kind of facial recognition system that could be used to unlock the phone.
Ever since Apple introduced Face ID to its smartphones, we have started to see various companies attempt their hand at facial recognition tech. We can’t be sure if “Face Match” is the tech that we’re thinking about, but it could be a good reason why Google has opted for dual front-facing shooters.

Various governments around the world have employed the use of facial recognition technology which they claim is for security purposes. For example over in China, they have demonstrated its usefulness when the technology allowed them to identify and capture a suspect who was attending a concert.
Now it looks like over in the US, facial recognition tech is showing signs that it works where over at the Washington Dulles International Airport, its first imposter has been caught. The airport had only recently implemented the use of facial recognition technology, and it managed to nab them a 26-year old man from Sao Paulo, Brazil who had been fooling authorities with a fake French passport.
However when he reached the airport, he tried using his French passport but when put through the facial recognition technology, he was busted and after a comprehensive check, a Republic of Congo ID was discovered hidden inside of his shoe. Naturally there are privacy advocates who feel that this technology might be abused, but the US Customs and Border Protection feels differently, arguing that it will bolster security at airports.
According to the CBP’s director Casey Durst, “Facial recognition technology is an important step forward for CBP in protecting the United States from all types of threats. Terrorists and criminals continually look for creative methods to enter the U.S. including using stolen genuine documents. The new facial recognition technology virtually eliminates the ability for someone to use a genuine document that was issued to someone else.”

Back in June during E3 2018, Nintendo officially announced Super Mario Party for the Nintendo Switch. Super Mario Party games have become common on Nintendo’s platforms so to see a version launch on the Switch didn’t really come as a surprise. In fact what would be surprising is if Nintendo skipped it entirely.
That being said, according a report from nextn.es (via Nintendo Everything), apparently the upcoming game will be playable only with the Joy-Con controllers. This means that if you have bought other controllers like the Switch Pro Controller or maybe a third-party controller, then you might not be able to play the game with those controllers.
It also means that if you don’t have enough Joy-Cons to go around, then you might need to get some extra if you’re hoping to host some Super Mario Party sessions at your house. That being said, this doesn’t really come as a surprise because just like 1-2 Switch, Super Mario Party will be a good way for Nintendo to show off what the Switch can do, so we imagine that there will be plenty of games that will involve the use of the Joy-Con and its sensors.
Either way we should find out soon enough as Super Mario Party is currently set for a release on the 5th of October in a couple of months.

Samsung has put out plenty of affordable smartphones in the past, so it’s not really surprising to see them launch another with the Galaxy J2 Core. However what makes this particular launch is that with the Samsung Galaxy J2 Core, it marks the first Android Go smartphone that Samsung has ever launched.
To be fair Samsung has never really participated in Google’s Android One program in the past, so it’s nice to see them hop on board the Android Go platform. For those unfamiliar Android Go and Android One are similar in which they are targeting lower-end phones, with the main difference being that Android Go does away with the restrictions that Google had in place with Android One.
In terms of specs, the Galaxy J2 Core will feature a 5-inch 540×960 display, and under the hood a Samsung Exynos 7570 chipset can be found along with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a 2,600mAh battery, an 8MP rear-facing camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera. It’s not the most impressive of phones, but judging by its specs it will most likely be priced very affordably.
In terms of launch, Samsung is targeting both Malaysia and India where it will be available on the 24th of August, before it is expected to expand to more markets in the future.
