ZTE is back from the dead, sort of. And at least for now. The company is perhaps desperate to put the horrible past few months behind and show a tough face. While wireless headphones aren’t new, a trend that we’re starting to see more of this year, is the launch of “true” wireless earbuds. By “true”, we mean that these earbuds do not even have a cable, unlike other wireless earphones such as Apple’s BeatsX or the recently announced Beoplay E6.
Audio Technica has recently announced their first “true” wireless earbuds, and now it looks like Sennheiser wants in on the action as well with the launch of the Momentum True Wireless. Sennheiser’s Momentum lineup does play home to wireless headphones, but these will be the company’s first wireless earbuds.
According to Sennheiser, the earbuds will feature 7mm dynamic drivers, AAC codec support, Qualcomm aptX compatibility, and Bluetooth connectivity. There will also be mic beamforming technology that helps to better pick up voices, even in noisy environments, and the sound can also be further customized via the accompanying Sennheiser Smart Control app.
The earbuds themselves have been rated for about 4 hours of usage and will come with a carrying case that doubles as a power bank for more than 12 hours of usage, so taking these earbuds with you on long trips should not be a problem. If these sound like the earbuds for you, Sennheiser is expected to launch them mid-November where they’ll be priced at 299 EUR.
