Survey: 48% Of iPhone Owners Intend To Upgrade

Last year we got quite a bit of conflicting reports over how well the iPhone X has sold. Apple reassured investors that things were going well, but there were also reports that claimed that customers weren’t quite as excited as Apple would have liked. However this year might paint a very different picture.

According to a survey conducted by Loup Ventures, it seems that almost half of current iPhone owners who were surveyed plan to upgrade their models. This is almost double that of the previous year where only 23% of those surveyed expressed interest in upgrading, but as Loup Ventures rightfully points out, intent to buy versus actually purchasing are two very different things, but the interest is still a good sign nonetheless.

Breaking that down even further, 42.7% of those who intend to upgrade plan to 2018’s iPhones. As expected, not everyone wants or needs the latest iPhones, and 17.53% state their intentions to upgrade to 2017’s iPhone X, while 16.49% plan to upgrade to the iPhone 8. The remainder 23.71% state that they plan to upgrade to another iPhone model that wasn’t listed in the survey.

That being said what we know about the 2018 iPhones now are based pretty much on rumors. Whether or not the actual devices will live up to the hype remains to be seen, but we’ll have to wait until the 12th of September (the rumored launch date) to find out.

Nikon D3500 Entry-Level DSLR Camera Launched

Just last week, Nikon confirmed how serious they were about the mirrorless market by launching the Z6 and Z7 full-frame mirrorless cameras. Safe to say given their specs and how they’re designed to be Nikon’s flagship mirrorless cameras, they did not come cheap. However if you’re in the market for an affordable Nikon camera, the recently announced D3500 might do the trick.

Nikon has just announced its latest DSLR in the form of the D3500, and this camera has clearly been designed as an entry-level model. It will be priced starting at $500 which will include the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR. There will also be another kit that will include the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR and AF-P DX NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED lens that will retail for $850.

In terms of specs, the D3500 will come with a 24.2MP sensor. There will be an ISO range of 100-25,600, 5fps continuous shooting speeds, Full HD video capture at 60fps, and there will also be built-in effects modes for photographers to jazz up their photos in-camera. Nikon is also boasting that the camera will be capable of snapping as many as 1,550 shots on a single battery charge. It’s not the fanciest DSLR we’ve seen from Nikon, but at $500 it makes a good entry-level for beginning photographers.

Logitech Upgrades The G502 Gaming Mouse With A New Sensor

Logitech’s G502 gaming mouse has been around for a very long time. The first model, the G502 Proteus Core was launched back in 2014, and has since undergone various iterations. For those who are shopping for a new gaming mouse, then perhaps you might be interested to learn that Logitech has made yet another upgrade to the G502.

Dubbed the G502 HERO Gaming Mouse, for those who follow Logitech’s product announcements can probably guess what this entails. For those who don’t, basically Logitech has given the G502 mouse a new 16k DPI HERO sensor which is an acronym for High Efficiency Rated Optical.

According to Logitech, “Featuring an all-new lens and updated tracking algorithm to deliver ultra-precise tracking with no acceleration, smoothing or filtering over the entire DPI range, Logitech G’s revolutionary HERO 16K sensor is capable of exceeding 400 IPS and delivering 16,000 DPI tracking with pixel-precise accuracy.”

As for the mouse itself, the G502 HERO will feature 11 buttons, all of which are programmable through Logitech’s Gaming Software. There will also be an adjustable weight system that will allow users to add up to five 3.6g weights. As expected of a gaming mouse, there will be lighting involve which users can configure and personalize to their liking.

The overall design of the mouse will be maintained, along with its mechanical switch that was developed together with Omen, which has also been rated for 50 million presses. If this sounds like the mouse for you, Logitech will be selling the G502 HERO this coming October where it will be priced at $105.
