One of the rumors leading up to the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was that Samsung could have a new wireless charger in the works for the phone and other Samsung devices. The Note 9 has since been launched and if you’re interested in the wireless charger as well, it looks like you will be able to get your hands on it as well.
Available in either a black or white finish via Samsung’s website, this wireless charger is pretty much as what the leaks had previously revealed. Unlike other wireless charging pads that are flat, Samsung’s Wireless Charger Duo will come with a stand/docked portion where users can prop up their phones so that they can see its screen while the device is being charged.
There will also be a flat option for users to put other wireless charging compatible devices, like in the photo above could be used for smartwatches or potentially another phone. Samsung claims that the charger will offer fast charge functionality with the ability to output 7.5W of power. It is also Qi compatible which means that using it with non-Samsung devices will be fine as long as those devices are also Qi compatible.
There will also be a built-in fan to help keep the charger cool, which was one of the alleged reasons why Apple’s AirPower was delayed due to overheating issues. As for pricing, it does not come cheap at $120, but if the rumors are true, it could be cheaper than Apple’s AirPower which was recently rumored to cost $150.
