I won’t lie, when AMD’s new 16-core monster CPU, the Ryzen Threadripper 2950X, arrived, I ran around the office showing off it and its accompanying air cooler to anyone who would make eye contact with me. Moto Z3 Review: Waiting for 5G

The Moto Z3 is a curious device, mostly because its reason for existing hasn’t been released yet. The Z3 will one day be compatible with the admittedly impressive 5G Moto Mod, a detachable accessory that’s the product of a team up between Verizon, Motorola, and Qualcomm. HTC U12 Life Might Launch With Android 8.1 Oreo

With Android 9.0 Pie having been released, manufacturers are working to bring the update onto phones. In fact recently HTC themselves announced that they are working on the update for some of their flagship handsets. However it seems that for HTC’s upcoming HTC U12 Life that we’ve been hearing about, the phone might launch with Android 8.0 Oreo instead.

This is according to a tweet by developer @LlabTooFeR who not only suggested that the phone would be launched with last year’s update, but apparently this phone will not be made by HTC themselves. Instead it seems that it will be outsourced to an ODM. Given that last month HTC announced plans to lay off 1,500 employees from its manufacturing division, we suppose this piece of news doesn’t come as a surprise.

No word on when the HTC U12 Life is expected to be announced, but for the most part what we’ve been hearing is that the phone will be a mid-ranger. We’re talking about a 6-inch 2160×1080 display, a Snapdragon 636 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. We’re also possibly looking at a dual camera setup featuring 16MP and 5MP sensors, and a 13MP front-facing camera.

As for a launch date, given everything that we’ve been hearing so far, we wouldn’t be surprised if an official announcement were around the corner.
