Jaybird X4 Wireless Sport Headphones Announced

#IFA 18 – These days there is an increasing trend in wireless headphones. This is because as more handset makers start to ditch the headphone jack, customers will either have to choose to live the dongle life or start looking for wireless options. Now if the “true” wireless style of earbuds aren’t your cup of tea, not to worry as Jaybird has announced the X4 Wireless Sport headphones.

As you can see in the image above, the headphones are wireless but are still connected via a cable. This is versus some of the “truly” wireless earbuds that we’ve seen at IFA and might actually feel more assuring to users who might be worried about them falling out and losing them.

As the name implies, these headphones are designed for sports or active use, meaning that they’ll be able to withstand things like water. In fact according to Jaybird, the X4 Wireless Sport will feature an IPX7 rating and will actually be able to withstand water submersion down to one meter for up to 30 minutes. You probably shouldn’t go swimming with them but you won’t need to worry about getting them wet.

The X4 Wireless Sport also boasts a battery life of about 8 hours, and will also feature a thermo-reactive foam that will conform to your ear’s canals for a comfortable fit. In terms of pricing and availability, the Jaybird X4 Wireless will go on sale this September where it will be priced at $130.
