LG’s Wearable Robot Will Make You Stronger

LG is showcasing a wearable robot at IFA 2018 called the CLOi Suitbot. The company says that it’s the first human-centric robot that’s designed for industry and healthcare markets. It’s different from the robots that LG has launched so far which are capable of navigating airport lounges and hotel hallways all by themselves.

LG invested in SG Robotics last year, a startup that develops robots to help overcome the limitations of the human body. The LG CLOi SuitBot has been developed in collaboration with the startup. It fits the user comfortably and has rotating joints to support and enhance a user’s legs for additional mobility and enhanced lower limb strength.

Getting it and out of the robot is easy with its sandal-type shoes and automatic adjustment feature. That’s one key differentiating feature that the LG CLOi SuitBot has from other exoskeletons which essentially perform the same function.

The SuitBot is also capable of connecting to other LG service robots to form a smart working network that can deliver information and tools required at work sites such as logistics, distribution, and manufacturing.

LG is showcasing the SuitBot at IFA 2018 in Berlin until September 5th. Attendees can check it out at the company’s booth in Hall 18.
