Some of you may have heard of people going on dates with people they meet online just to have a nice meal paid for by the other person and never call them back. At least they don’t run out of them and actually pretend to be interested until the date is over. That can’t be said for 45-year-old Paul Gonzales who over the past couple of years has developed a bit of a reputation as a dine-and-dasher, in that he scammed free meals out of women he met online.
LA County prosecutors said that Gonzales pleaded not guilty to 10 felony charges related to accusations that he took “financial advantage of women he met mostly through dating apps and websites.”
News of his exploits has been covered as far back as 2016 by local outlets in California. He ended up being called a dine-and-dash dater because he allegedly only went on internet dates to run out before the bill came.
On one such date he ordered more than $100 in food. The woman said that he ordered two entrees and excused it by saying that he was a bodybuilder. He later said that he was going to the bathroom and never came back, leaving her with quite a hefty bill.
In the ten cases that he has been charged in, the women had to pay the bill in eight cases, the restaurants picked up the tab in the remaining two. The total amount he is accused of defrauding dates out of is $950.
He has been charged with seven counts of extortion, two counts of attempted extortion, and one count of grand theft. He’s looking at a maximum sentence of 13 years if convicted.

The original Onimusha title, called Onimusha: Warlords back in the day, is being brought back. Capcom has confirmed that it’s going to release this PlayStation 2 classic not only on the PlayStation 4 but also the Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The re-release of this title has been scheduled for next year.
It has been 17 years since Onimusha: Warlords was first released for the PlayStation 2. The title sold more than two million copies worldwide on the PlayStation 2. The game is set in feudal Japan after the perceived death of the evil lord Nobunaga Oda. It follows through the story of the samurai Samanosuke Akechi and ninja Kaede who are on a mission to save Princess Yuki.
The title was actually conceived as a spin-off from the Resident Evil series which featured ninjas instead of the familiar characters that fans know and love today. That game would have had a mansion complete with booby traps, hidden pathways, and other ninja-inspired elements. It was later decided that Onimusha: Warlords would be a separate game but it kept one feature from the earlier Resident Evil games, the fixed camera.
Capcom confirmed today that Onimusha: Warlords is going to be released on January 15th, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The title brings high-definition graphics, a new control scheme for analog sticks, support for widescreen, and a new soundtrack.
It’s possible to pre-order the physical version of Onimusha: Warlords now in North American for $19.99.

GlobalFoundries has long been AMD’s manufacturing partner for its processors and GPUs but the latter is now going with another contract manufacturer and there’s a good reason for that. AMD has confirmed that its new CPUs and GPUs based on the 7nm process technology will be made by the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.
It’s not like AMD and GlobalFoundries had a falling out due to which the company has changed its contract manufacturer. GlobalFoundries has actually been working on the 7nm process technology for quite some time now and was expected to sample the first 7nm chips for its clients in Q4 this year.
However, the company has now announced that it’s ceasing all development work on its 7nm process technology and will focus on specialized processes instead. The decision has been taken due to business and financial concerns.
AMD has already been working on 7nm-based products with TSMC. These include its first 7nm GPU that’s due to launch later this year in addition to the first 7nm server CPU which will be launched in 2019. The roadmap also includes AMD’s Zen 2 CPU core and its Navi GPU architecture. AMD will continue to work with GlobalFoundries on products that are based on the latter’s 14 and 12nm process technologies.
