No Devil May Cry 5 DLC Plans Yet, Says Game Director

The first proper addition to the Devil May Cry franchise in almost a decade has fans of the franchise very excited. Devil May Cry 5’s director Hideaki Itsuno has revealed that the team currently has no plans for DLC content for this title. There’s a reason for that. Since Devil May Cry is being developed as a complete single-player experience, the team isn’t focusing on additional content that could be added to the game by DLC at this point in time.

Itsuno mentioned during Gamescom that there won’t be any major DLC expansions soon after the title is released because they haven’t even planned one right now. The idea is to offer the title as a complete single-player experience and DLC content doesn’t figure into that.

The new title will have some connections to Devil May Cry 2, Itsuno said, pointing out that while Dante’s motorcycle won’t be the same as the one in DmC2, there will be many other connections between these games. This will be the first for any two games in this series.

It goes without saying that a lot of fans of this franchise are waiting for the title to arrive. They will have to wait until March 8th as that’s when Devil May Cry 5 is going to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Samsung Launches Portable Thunderbolt 3 SSD

Samsung’s consumer SSD products are well regarded and the company is adding another product to that list today. It has announced the launch of the Portable SSD X5, it’s a Thunderbolt 3 compatible external drive that’s capable of backing up a 20GB 4K UHD video in around 12 seconds.

The Portable SSD X5 isn’t really that big compared to a conventional thumb drive and yet it offers read and write speeds of up to 2800 and 2300 Megabytes per second respectively. For those who are curious, that’s up to five times faster compared to SATA-based portable SSSDs and more than 25 times faster than a typical hard drive.

This blazing fast speed is made possible by the NVMe interface and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. To take full advantage of it, you will obviously require a computer that has a Thunderbolt 3 port. The SSD itself is made out of metal and has a gloss finish. It has a shock-resistant design and can withstand drops from heights of up to two meters.

SSDs are already not that cheap and given all that you get with this package, it’s no surprise that Samsung’s newest SSD isn’t cheap. The Portable SSD X5 with 500GB of storage will retail for $399. Samsung will also offer 1TB and 2TB options for $700 and $1,400 respectively. They will be available for purchase from September 3rd.

Google Assistant Voice Command Support Comes To Nest x Yale Lock

One of the biggest selling points of smart home devices is that they can be controlled remotely and through the devices that we always carry in our pockets these days. Smart locks have become increasingly common over the past few years and now Google is making it easier to control a particular one. It’s enabling Google Assistant voice support for the Nest x Yale Lock.

Yale, the iconic lock company, collaborated with Google’s Nest to launch the Nest x Yale Lock in January this year. It’s a smart lock that’s different from its rivals as it doesn’t have a keyhole anywhere.

It won’t lock you out, though, because it has a keypad. Users can thus set passcodes for guests with expiration times, receive alerts when the door is locked and unlocked, and even have their door lock automatically when Nest detects that they’re not home.

Google today announced that it’s going to launch a new integration for Google Assistant with the Nest x Yale Lock. The integration will let you use Assistant to check the status of the lock, remotely lock it, and even add it to a Routine. The core features would thus become accessible through voice commands.

The Google Assistant integration with the Nest x Yale Lock will begin rolling out tomorrow, according to the company.
