Superhero team-up series are, by their very nature, grand affairs. They’re about mighty heroes worthy of (and/or currently) starring in their own series, coming together to face insurmountable odds as something more than they are. West Coast Avengers is also like that, but scaled down to an endlessly charming point.
Apple tends to launch new hardware in September and we’re just days away from the month. There has been a steady stream of rumors about the new iPhones that the company is expected to launch this year. A new report today claims that not only is Apple is going to launch three new iPhones in 2019 but it will also launch a new Apple Watch with a larger display.
Bloomberg reiterates previous reports that Apple will launch three new iPhones this year. It adds that the new handsets will keep the edge-to-edge screen design of last year’s iPhone X. The lineup is thus expected to include a new iPhone X with a 5.8 inch OLED display, a new flagship iPhone with a 6.5 inch OLED display and a cheaper model that looks like the iPhone X with a 6.1 inch LCD display. The two larger models may come with dual-SIM slots in certain regions.
Some inside the company are reportedly refering to the upcoming launch as an “S year,” which would mean that there won’t be any major design changes to look forward to. This is a strategy that Apple has stuck with for many years and it has worked. More significant changes are reportedly being planned for 2020’s lineup.
Apple is also said to be working on a new Apple Watch for this year which is said to look similar to existing models but with a larger display that goes edge-to-edge as well. The overall size is expected to remain the same which would make them compatible with existing straps.
The company is yet to confirm its event date next month. If history is any indication, though, it will formally announce the date in a couple of weeks.
