When you think of director Gareth Evans two words come to mind: The Raid. Film fans know and adore the filmmaker because of those two absolutely incredible Indonesian action films, but now, four years after The Raid 2, Evans is back with a film that’s about as far from those movies as possible.
Holy… what is this image that has appeared on my toast? Is that Jesus with a perm? No man, it’s just Bob Ross. I made it with my new toaster, which burns an image of the iconic artist’s face onto the toast. Though, to be honest that is a bit less impressive after you think that your savior has just magically appeared on your toast wearing an afro.
Yes, this is the official Bob Ross toaster from Uncanny Brands. Forget happy little trees. make happy little toast. If you’ve ever wanted to partake of Bob Ross, now is your chance. You can eat his bearded face and head.
Unfortunately, the image doesn’t really look that much like him on everyday bread. It actually looks kind of evil. Whoa. Wait a minute! Is it just me or does that look like Charles Manson with a fro? Yeah, I don’t want this toaster in my kitchen. In real life, it looks like a ghost from the 70s has somehow possessed my bread. If you must have one though, you can grab it over on Amazon for about $40.

Apparently, this was the week to shoot for the Moon, in some ways more literally than others. SpaceX announced on Monday that it’d found its first Guinea Pi- I mean “paying customer” for a slingshot sightseeing trip around the far edge of la luna and…
We’re a long way from the days where the hardest iPhone decision was what color you should choose. The arrival of the Plus devices, with the iPhone 6 Plus back in 2015, made things a little trickier, though even then it was a fairly straightforward choice where size corresponded with specifications. With the arrival of the 2018 iPhones, however, Apple … Continue reading
Uber already runs a food delivery service of its own called Uber Eats and it may be looking to acquire a food delivery firm to further bolster this effort. According to a new report, Uber is in talks to acquire a food delivery company called Deliveroo. It’s unclear how much Uber is willing to pay for the company but it would understandably have to be above Deliveroo’s latest valuation.
Deliveroo may not be the only company that Uber is thinking of buying. A recent report revealed that Uber is in talks with Careem for an acquisition as well. Careem is the company’s biggest rival in the Middle East and its acquisition would put Uber in a dominant position in the Middle East.
Deliveroo’s valuation last year was over $2 billion after the company raised $98 million from private investors. The London-based company and its investors are reportedly not that interested in giving up their independence so it’s possible that this acquisition talks with Uber may fall through if they feel that the price isn’t right.
The food delivery service was launched in London back in 2013. It has since expanded it service to 11 countries across the globe and is due to launch in new markets down the road. Both Uber and Deliveroo have not commented on the report about their talks.

Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency has landed a couple of robots on the asteroid Ryugu some 180 million miles from Earth. The cylindrical robots are about 18cm wide and 7cm tall. They made their journey on the Hayabusa2 spacecraft which was launched from the Earth back in December 2014.
The robots reached the right spot to fall on the asteroid’s surface over the weekend. They were secured in a container called MINERVA-II1. The container was allowed to free fall slowly on the asteroid’s surface. The country’s space agency has confirmed that the container reached the surface successfully and that the box has separated so both robots have landed properly.
It’s pertinent to mention here that this was the second attempt by Japan’s space agency to launch the robots on the asteroid. The first try was back in 2005 and it didn’t go so well because the first Hayabusa spacecraft released the container at the wrong time.
Hayabusa2 reached Ryugu’s orbit in June and snapped photos to find a good landing spot for the container. The main goal of this entire exercise is to send a sample of the asteroid back to Earth in 2020. That will be done by firing a bullet at the asteroid in the hopes that it would kick up enough material that can be collected and brought back to the Earth.

Huawei is set to unveil its next flagship smartphone in the coming month. The Huawei Mate 20 is going to be a high-end device with the specs to match. A recent teardown of the Android Pie-based EMUI 9 software that will be released soon revealed that the Mate 20 Pro could come with an underwater photo mode. A new teaser that Huawei has released for the device has suggested the same.
Most high-end and many mid-range devices are now protected against water submersion for up to 30 minutes. It goes without saying that the Huawei Mate 20 will have an IP rating as well. Since the phones can now be submerged, it’s possible to take photos underwater.
Huawei has been relying on software to further improve the camera performance on its devices and that’s what it appears to be doing with this feature as well. The teaser that the company has posted on Weibo suggests that an underwater photo mode might be onboard to improve shots taken with the phone submerged in water.
However, it’s quite possible that the teaser might just be highlighting the water resistance of the Mate 20 Pro which the handset is most likely going to have given that its predecessor, the Mate 10 pro, had it as well.

It has been over a year since the Android Oreo update was released but there are still some devices that have yet to receive the update. That’s despite the fact that Android 9 Pie has now made its way to a few devices and will be arriving on more in the coming months. LG G5 owners on Verizon and T-Mobile will now be relieved as the carriers have now released the Oreo update for this device.
T-Mobile and Verizon have started rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the LG G5 over the air. Those who own the handset on either network will soon receive an update notification on their handsets if they haven’t already. It shouldn’t be long now before the update goes live for users in all regions.
The update brings all features that are part and parcel of Android Oreo. This includes user interface improvements as well as new features such as a picture in picture mode, a better notifications experience, and additional optimization for battery life.
The changelog of the update does mention that security patches are included but the precise month isn’t mentioned. Verizon and T-Mobile users who own the LG G5 should expect the update notification for Oreo to arrive on their handsets in the near future.

Samsung previously offered its Galaxy S flagships with flat and curved displays but that changed with the Galaxy S8. It has since offered both models with curved displays but a new rumor out of China suggests that this might change with the Galaxy S10. Samsung is expected to offer three different models of the next flagship and it’s now said that at least one of those models could have a flat display.
Previous reports have suggested that there will be three models of the Galaxy S10. The third model will actually be a more affordable variant of the new flagship. This model may only have a single camera at back, may not have a display-based fingerprint sensor, and now it’s also expected to not feature Samsung’s curved display.
The rumor claims that the three models of the Galaxy S10 will include one that has a 5.8 inch flat display. The other two models, which will be successors to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, are expected to feature 5.8 inch and 6.44 inch curved displays respectively.
This rumor might make sense given that the entry-level model is meant to be more affordable and opting for the flat display will certainly allow the company to lower the price point of this device. Whether or not that actually happens remains to be seen. Samsung is due to announce the Galaxy S10 early next year.
