CAT’s B35 Is A Rugged Phone With Google Assistant

In this day and age, choosing a phone means either choosing between iOS or Android. This is because we are in the age of smartphones which means that feature phones are pretty much no longer thought about. However CAT seems to think that there is still a demand for such devices, and has since announced the CAT B35.

Despite this looking like a feature phone, the B35 actually comes with certain “smart” features, such as support for Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Search, and YouTube. In addition it has also been designed to take a beating and is MIL-810G compliant. This means that it can withstand extreme temperatures, humidity, vibrations, and is said to be shock-proof from drops up to 1.8m, and can survive going underwater to depths up to 1.2m for 35 minutes.

Other specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 chipset, a 2.4-inch display, 512GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a 2,300mAh battery. No word on pricing just yet but given that this is a feature phone we’re talking about, we don’t expect it to break the bank. Granted it’s not the most powerful phone we’ve seen, but given its rugged nature, there are probably some who might require it just for its phone capabilities and rugged nature.

Star Trek Enterprise C Metal Sculpture Boldy Goes Where All Knick-knacks Go

I’m not a fan of knick-knacks. They crowd everything and collect dust. I’m more a minimalist sort of guy. Give me simple lines and less stuff and I am happy. Still, I’d make an exception for this sweet U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C die-cast sculpture.

This particular sculpture comes from Eaglemoss Collections, and is based on the rare NCC-1701-C that appeared in the 1990 episode of The Next Generation, “Yesterday’s Enterprise.” It’s pretty cool, though I’d rather have the good old NCC-1701-D.

The sculpture is 10-inches long and comes with a display base. It also comes with a collector’s magazine featuring product artwork and the history of the ship and its design. Entertainment Earth will take your pre-order right now for March 2019 shipping. The statue and magazine will set you back $74.99 and untold amounts of time dusting.

New Renders Of Upcoming Google Pixelbook Leaked

We have been hearing rumors that Google is planning to launch a new Pixelbook device. Just a couple of weeks ago, a video surfaced which showed the alleged device. Now thanks to the folks at About Chromebooks, it seems that they have managed to get their hands on what appears to be renders of the tablet/laptop hybrid.

It’s a bit hard to tell from the renders if this is the same device from the video, but the keyboard does look similar. From what we have heard so far, the keyboard will also be detachable from the screen, meaning that users have the option to turn the laptop into a tablet, a pretty common setup that we’ve been seeing in recent times.

Some other details that weren’t revealed in the video also includes how Google has included a fingerprint sensor on the edge of the display. This means that users can authenticate themselves as they open up the laptop. No word on what else we might be able to expect, but Google did confirm that they would be hosting an event on the 9th of October.

This is where Google is expected to announce its new Pixel smartphones, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they also took the opportunity to announce other products, like its new Pixelbook.

Awful Dad Uses Toddler to Steal from Prize Machine

Some dads don’t instill the best values into their kids, and this is one of them. Police are looking for a man who got his toddler to crawl up inside of a BarBerCut Lite game machine at a Salem, New Hampshire mall in order to grab some expensive prizes, including a Nintendo Switch and a Nintendo 3DS.

Security at the mall was alerted to what was going on by a hostess at a restaurant, who later told The Union Leader “two people came in and I heard them say, ‘That’s so unsafe.’ So I went outside and all I saw was the toddler’s head peeping out of the front of the machine.” She says the man made off with “multiple prizes.” That’s it? You just saw that and then you were like “oh well, back to my work…”? I guess that’s what happened because that’s the quote we have from this lady. Just a toddler in a prize machine. No big deal.

The video below shows the incident, which includes the blurred out toddler’s head popping out of the machine towards the end. Not only is the stealing a crime, but who knows how dangerous it was for the kid to be inside of that machine?

Anyway, police are looking for this guy now, so those consoles that he stole may end up being very expensive rather than free. Crime doesn’t pay, kids. Even if your dad says it’s okay.
