Many are wondering what will happen to the AirPower wireless charging pad from Apple. It was expected to be officially launched at Apple’s iPhone event last week, but that clearly did not happen. In fact mentions of the AirPower accessory were subsequently removed from Apple’s website, and was followed by reports claiming that the device was “doomed” as it was plagued by all kinds of technical problems.
However it seems that Apple hasn’t given up yet, at least according to a tweet by Gavin Stephens who discovered that there were references made to the AirPower in the packaging of the iPhone Xs. Now some might think of that as an oversight by Apple, and that the packaging might have already been made early on when Apple was still planning on releasing the AirPower.
But they definitely mention it in the new iPhone XS Max manual pic.twitter.com/qJO7kVc8bi

That is a possibility, but it has also been discovered that there are references made to AirPower in the latest iOS 12.1 beta, suggesting that Apple is still trying to make it work. Of course the reference in iOS 12.1 doesn’t necessarily confirm that the device will be launched anytime soon, but at least Apple hasn’t given up yet.
Some of the problems we’ve heard plaguing the device include how it overheats. There are also reports that claim that because the AirPower is designed to charge multiple Apple devices at once, that it can lead to interference issues between them, all of which are problems that Apple is still trying to solve. Exactly when we will see the AirPower launched is anyone’s guess, but until then there are a bunch of different wireless charging pads out there that you can use as an alternative.

As is the case with a lot of games, usually if there is a strong community, we start seeing third-party applications and mods that have been designed to improve on the gameplay and overall experience. Unfortunately sometimes those apps run foul of the game’s end user license agreement, such is the case with Blizzard’s Overwatch.
In the post on the Blizzard forums, community manager Tom Powers announced that they have taken a look at some third-party apps for Overwatch and have clarified that some of these apps breach the end user licensing agreement, and that further use of such apps could potentially lead to a perma-ban, something that Blizzard is taking a no-nonsense stand on.
While Blizzard does not come outright and say it, the apps that Blizzard seems to be referring to are Visor and Pursuit. These are apps designed to provide users with real-time in-game stats meant to help them improve their gameplay, although Blizzard seems to think that they compromise the “professional integrity” of the game.
Blizzard notes that they will not be banning players who have used the app, but have notified them by email to ask them to stop or risk facing a ban. “In this case, we’ll be reaching out to users that we’ve detected to be using this unauthorized software; to notify those users that those specific third-party applications are not permitted and do not align with the Blizzard EULA. Furthermore, we will be requesting those users to immediately remove the unauthorized software to avoid account suspension.”

China’s internet censorship laws and practices are pretty well-known, and it looks like Amazon’s Twitch live streaming platform is its latest victim. In a report from Abacus, it appears that Twitch has been blocked from China, and its mobile app has also disappeared from Apple’s App Store suggesting that this isn’t some kind of glitch or accident.
What’s strange is that as Abacus points out, just last month the platform saw a surge in popularity in the country as many had tuned in to watch the Asian Games. However for some reason, the website is no longer accessible and the app is gone. Abacus also notes that interestingly enough, YouTube’s app is still available although you wouldn’t be able to use its services if you download the app.
Like we said, there doesn’t seem to be any particular reason as to why the service has been blocked or the app has been removed. Some speculate that it could be China’s way of cracking down on video games. Some are also saying that this ban certainly does not bode well for other Western gaming platforms such as Steam, which is still operating in the country.
Twitch has yet to officially respond to their services being blocked in the country, but for now it looks like Chinese gamers will need to find a different live stream source.
