Hacker Announces He Will Live Stream His Hack Of Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook Page

Usually hackers prefer to remain anonymous. After all hacking for the most part is a crime, and what criminal would want to announce themselves to the world, right? Maybe some might reveal themselves after the fact to perhaps revel in the notoriety and “fame”, but in the case of prominent Taiwanese hacker Chang Chi-yuan, he has announced his plans ahead of time.

In a report from Bloomberg, Chang has announced on his Facebook page that he plans on hacking Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook page and will be deleting it as proof of his success. He also announced that he will be live streaming the attack which will be taking place on the 30th of September, 6PM local time in Taiwan, which is 3AM PT and 6AM ET, for those living in the US.

That being said, we’re not sure what Chang plans to accomplish with this hack, plus making it so publicly known will most likely land him in trouble should he actually go through with the hack. However Chang has been mentioned by LINE Corp in the past and placed in the bounty hall of fame, so it is possible that his hack could simply be his way of demonstrating flaws in Facebook’s system.

Either way it remains to be seen if he will be successful, but we imagine that the engineers at Facebook are probably scrambling to try and come up with a defense against it.

Spotify Cracking Down On Friends Who Share Family Plans

Streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music have family plans, in which in theory, families could share a plan where it would be much cheaper than if everyone were to sign up for it individually. Unsurprisingly some have abused these plans, where groups of friends share them instead of families.

Unfortunately for Spotify users who are doing this, it seems that the company is cracking down on such practices. In multiple reports from Spiegel Online and Quartz (via The Verge), Spotify has been sending notifications to users asking them to confirm their home address. The idea is that as a family, everyone should be living together in the same home, which means everyone’s location should be the same.

Users who don’t confirm their home addresses will lose access to the plan, according to Spotify’s email. Now we’re not sure how this works and if all users under the Spotify Premium for Family are affected. This is because families can technically live apart from each other, where kids could be off in another state or country for school, and so on.

When reached out to comment, a Spotify spokesperson said, “Spotify is currently testing improvements to the user experience of Premium for Family with small user groups in select markets. We are always testing new products and experiences at Spotify, but have no further news to share regarding this particular feature test at this time.”

Fallout 76 Beta Will Kick Off October 23

For gamers who are eager to see what Fallout 76 will be bringing to the table, you might be pleased to learn that Bethesda has announced that the beta for the game will be kicking off on the 23rd of October. This is for Xbox One gamers who will be getting an exclusive headset, and those on the PS4 and PC can expect beta access a week later.

Bethesda also notes that the beta will not be running 24/7 during its beta period. According to the company, they want to limit the active uptime of the beta to try and gather as many players to its servers as possible to stress test it. The idea is to see if their servers are capable of handling large groups of players. After all what good is an MMO if it buckles under the weight of its players, right?

According to Bethesda, “On any given day the game might be up for anywhere between four to eight hours. Focusing as many players as we can into these windows is our prime objective. Then we’ll fix what we need to fix and do it again and again from the start of B.E.T.A. until a few days before launch. We’ll give you as much heads up as possible because we need you to log in during these times and play the game.”

Fallout 76 is expected to go live on the 14th of November, and beta access will be available to those who pre-order the game which gamers will be able to do so via Bethesda’s website.
