RED Hydrogen One Titanium delayed, free Aluminum for preorders

If you’re making one of the most technologically advanced smartphones in the market, you’re bound to hit delays. Bethesda Unsure If Fallout 76 Will Ever Support Cross-Play

The implications of Sony finally allowing cross-play for Fortnite on the PS4 are huge. This means that there is potential that games that were previously denied cross-play could finally be getting the feature, but unfortunately for gamers, it seems that it could take a while before that happens, or in the case of Bethesda’s Fallout 76, perhaps never.

In a tweet by Bethesda’s Pete Hines, he congratulated Sony on their decision but also wrote in a follow-up tweet, “Fallout 76 does not support crossplay, for a number of reasons. I have no idea if it ever will. But I assure you it is not on our radar right now as we focus on B.E.T.A. and Launch.”

This is actually an interesting response because several months ago, Bethesda’s Todd Howard seemed to hint that Fallout 76 could have had cross-play, but it might be blocked by Sony. He was quoted as saying that Sony was “not as helpful as everyone would like it.” On hindsight it is possible that Howard might have simply be referring to Sony’s stance in general, as opposed to specifically talking about Fallout 76.

Either way given that Fallout 76 will essentially be an MMORPG, cross-play would definitely help more players play together, so we’re not sure why they are not looking to implement it. We’ll have to wait and see how this plays out, but we have seen how games can still be successful even without cross-play, so maybe it won’t be as big a deal as we think.

Epic Looking To Link Fortnite Accounts Together

Now that Sony has finally come on board and allowed cross-play for Fortnite on the PS4, it means that the game is now playable across multiple platforms where players can also play together. Sounds good, right? Now it looks like Epic wants to take things to the next level by merging accounts together.

Announced on Twitter, it seems like Epic wants to link all your Fortnite accounts into one single account. This will combine all your purchases under a single account, as opposed to having multiple accounts across multiple platforms. This means that if you have separate accounts for the PC, mobile, Switch, or Xbox One, you can soon put them all together under a single umbrella which should make account management easier.

While Epic does not come right out and say it, it seems that this change is now possible thanks to Sony, where previously players had to create an extra account to play Fortnite on multiple platforms. We’re not sure what the limitations are to merging accounts, but some of the comments have suggested that some players will want to merge accounts with other players who don’t play anymore so that they can get their skins/achievements.

Whether or not that is possible remains to be seen. There’s also no word on when Epic plans on implementing this, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
