MMO WildStar Will Be Shutting Down For Good In November

Earlier this month, NCSoft announced that Carbine will be shutting down. For those who aren’t familiar, Carbine is the developer behind MMORPG WildStar, and was put together by former Blizzard employees. The shutting down of Carbine also meant that this marked the end of WildStar, but we did not have a date until now.

In a post on WildStar’s website, the developers have confirmed that the game will be shutting down for good come November 28, 2018. Gamers can also expect to be refunded their purchases that were made after the 1st of July, although with the game shutting down in the next couple of months, it probably doesn’t make sense for you to invest anymore into it.

To help wrap things up and allow players to experience the game in all of its glory one last time, Carbine announced that they will be “increasing the rotational speed of the planet Nexus (not really) to fast forward “ the time in the game so that players will be able to take part and enjoy some of the seasonal in-game events.

The developers also add, “We are truly grateful for the vibrant community that grew around WildStar, and for all of your support throughout the life of this game. Our hope is that in these last couple months we can all celebrate the great adventures you’ve had on Planet Nexus—and have some fun along the way.”

“Again, a most heartfelt thank you goes out from all of us to you for sharing this wild, intergalactic ride with us, and to helping make WildStar an experience that truly could not have been possible without you. Thank you.”

Red Dead Redemption 2 Storage Space Requirement Is Massive

Red Dead Redemption 2 is highly anticipated by fans of the franchise who have had to wait for a long time to get the sequel. It’s due to arrive soon and some details are now being confirmed about the title. The PlayStation 4 Pro bundle for this title was recently announced for this title as well. It turns out that the Red Dead Redemption 2 storage space requirement is quite massive.

It’s no surprise that game install sizes are gradually getting bigger as the demand for 4K visuals drives developers to oblige players who own powerful gaming consoles like the PlayStation 4 Pro.

The confirmation about Red Dead Redemption 2 storage requirement comes from the fine print on the PS4 Pro bundle’s box which mentions that Rockstar’s upcoming title requires a minimum of 105GB of free storage space on the console.

It’s far from some of the most chunky games we have seen. For example, Final Fantasy comes in at a whopping 148GB on PC. Many players who own the original PS4 with 500GB of storage will certainly have to shift many things around to make space for this title if they have been waiting to pick up a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2.

The bundle’s box also reveals that the multiplayer component, Red Dead Online, is going to have support for up to 32 players. It will be out in November as a beta. Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released for PS4 and Xbox One on October 26th.

Take A Street View Tour Of Google’s First Garage Office

Google the company may have been incorporated on September 4th, 1998 but the company likes to celebrate its birthday on September 27th. It has done just that over the past decade. It’s September 27th today which means that Google is now 20 years old. To celebrate the milestone, it has put together a Street View virtual tour of the first garage office of the company that was set up back in 1998.

This garage is where the internet search giant was founded. One has to be astounded by the sheer ground it has covered and with it has become in just 20 years. Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin inside Susan Wojcicki’s Menlo Park garage. That’s where the first office of the company was.

The Street View virtual tour has been meticulously put together to recreate just how it looked back in 1998. More Google memorabilia can be found once the secret door is opened and the neon light is turned on. Like many tech giants of Silicon Valley, Google to had humble beginnings.

The virtual tour allows us to get a glimpse of the early moments of the company that we now rely on for so much today. It would have been hard to imagine 20 years ago that Google would become the behemoth that it is today but it is what it is now and it’s not going away anytime soon.
