Despite having a domestic workforce of around 200,000 employees, fewer than 300 Samsung employees are part of a union, which seems a little curious. So South Korean regulators decided to dig a little deeper, and after a five-month investigation spurred by officials from South Korea’s Justice party, prosecutors have…
Between Worlds is the latest indie genre film in Nicolas Cage’s mini-renaissance. Previously, films like Mom and Dad and Mandy have utilized Cage to full effect in weird, exciting stories. Unfortunately, Between Worlds doesn’t come close to either of those films, presenting an interesting premise in a flat,…

Standalone, Wireless Oculus Quest Headset Confirmed For Spring 2019
Posted in: UncategorizedOne of the problems of early iterations of virtual reality (VR) headsets like the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift is that they required to be connected to a power PC and tethered with a wire. This severely limited its usefulness as it meant that mobility was not very possible, unless you had a huge room and very long cables.
However things have changed over the years and we’ve seen HTC launch their own standalone headset, and for those who might prefer what Oculus has to offer, then you’ll be pleased to learn that the Oculus Quest has been confirmed for a release in the spring of 2019 where it will cost customers $399 to own it.
For those unfamiliar, the Oculus Quest was previously known as the Santa Cruz and it actually has been in development for a while. Basically this is the company’s take on a standalone, wireless VR headset that can power itself, meaning that it will not require users to connect it to a separate computer or rely on external sensors. It also isn’t the company’s first standalone headset as Oculus had previously launched the Oculus Go, but the Quest will be a more powerful and robust version.
For $399 it isn’t too much to ask considering that it isn’t far off from what VR headsets had cost when they first launched. No specific dates were provided just yet so we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more info.

Last year there was a bit of a fuss kicked up over World of Warcraft, where a group of players had decided that they had enough of modern World of Warcraft and wanted to go back to the classics, and thus created their own World of Warcraft server. This project got shut down, understandably, although Blizzard did make up for it by announcing that they will be working on a World of Warcraft Classic server.
Basically this will give players the classic “vanilla” experience from when the game first launched more than a decade ago. Blizzard did state that it could be a while before the classic servers are up and running, but the good news is that it looks like a playable demo will be available soon. In fact if you were to purchase a virtual ticket to BlizzCon 2018, you will be able to download the classic demo after BlizzCon 2018 kicks off.
According to Blizzard, “Every BlizzCon, we look for opportunities to bring new aspects of the experience to our community around the world. This year, we’re excited to announce that for the first time ever, BlizzCon Virtual Ticket holders will join BlizzCon attendees as the first people to play the World of Warcraft Classic demo we’re creating for BlizzCon at home.”
To top it off, the virtual ticket will also come with two faction-themed cloaks and war banners (this is just for World of Warcraft in-game items), amongst other goodies. The virtual tickets are available for purchase at $50 so head on over to Blizzard’s website to get your (virtual) hands on them.
