It’s hard to believe Google is about to turn 20 years old. And while the company has changed drastically in the past two decades, going from being a simple search engine to a global tech titan, there’s one thing that’s been there from the very first…
Did the world need a racing-spec Humvee, as happy on the track as it is in the mud and rough stuff? Probably not, but that hasn’t stopped Mil-Spec Automotive (MSA) from building just such a behemoth. Turns out, when you tune more than 800 horsepower from a Humvee’s engine, slam its suspension, and point it at an autocross course, interesting … Continue reading

To prevent people from falling victim to cryptocurrency scams that were reaching a fever pitch during the heights of the cryptocurrency boom just a few months ago, Google decided to ban all sorts of cryptocurrency-related ads on its network. The internet search giant has now decided to relax the ban on cryptocurrency ads as it’s going to allow regulated exchanges to advertise on Google in select markets.
Google’s blanket ban on cryptocurrency ads came in June. It no longer allowed ads that promoted cryptocurrencies, exchanges, wallets, and initial coin offerings. It wasn’t the only major company to do something like this. Facebook enforced a similar ban on advertisements on the world’s largest social network back in January this year. Similar measures were also taken by Twitter.
Regulated cryptocurrency exchanges will soon be able to run ads on Google’s massive advertising platform in the United States and Japan. The advertisers will first be required to apply for certification before they can be allowed to place ads. They will have to apply for certification for the specific country in which they want their ads to be displayed.
Google has confirmed that it’s updated ads policy will go into effect starting next month after which advertisers will be able to apply for certification to run cryptocurrency ads.

Facebook may have ripped off the Stories feature for its products from Snapchat but its users have really embraced it. The Stories feature can be found in its products like the world’s largest social media network, Instagram, and even WhatsApp. The company revealed at a press event today that Stories on Facebook proper and Facebook Messenger now boast more than 300 million daily active users combined.
The Stories feature on Instagram still brings in the most users across all of Facebook’s apps. Facebook announced back in June that Instagram Stories had 400 million daily active users. It’s now providing a sense of how popular this feature has become on Facebook itself.
Facebook users can post stories – videos and photos that disappear after 24 hours – in both the main app and Facebook Messenger. If a story is posted on Messenger, it’s automatically cross-posted to Facebook proper as well.
It last revealed in May that Facebook Stories itself had 150 million daily active users. At a press event in New York City, the company today confirmed that Stories on Facebook and Messenger now pulls in a combined 300 million daily active users.
Facebook also confirmed during today’s event that it will now allow all advertisers globally to run ads in Stories. Ads will begin rolling out on Messenger Stories in the coming weeks as well.

The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have been thoroughly leaked already. You have already seen multiple renders of the upcoming handsets and today a different kind of render has appeared online. It shows us Google’s wireless charging stand for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL which may be launched as the Pixelstand.
The accessory would do what the name suggests. It will allow the handset to be rested vertically while it’s being charged wirelessly. The leaked render essentially confirms that unlike their predecessors, the new Pixel handsets will support wireless chargers.
The render shows that the Pixelstand will have an orange base with a Google logo on it. The hidden USB Type-C connector will provide power while the internal coils will charge a Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL placed on it wirelessly.
The official wireless charger for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be a bit different from similar accessories as most charging pads have the device laying on top. The Pixelstand will have the device resting vertically on it as it’s being charged wirelessly.
A previous leak has revealed that there will be a custom UI for when the phone is placed on the wireless charger. It will have larger buttons for easy control in addition to shortcuts for music, phone, messages, and more. It will also allow for easy access to the Google Assistant.
Google is due to officially unveil the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL early next month.
