Netflix May Be Working On An Animated Diablo Series

Seems like a lot of video games are getting turned into movies right now. Historically they don’t translate well. Which may be why Blizzard might be using a different strategy with Diablo. A report from Variety claims that a Diablo animated series is being developed by Netflix.

There is no official word yet from either company just yet, but an animated series wouldn’t surprise us. The Diablo franchise could use a boost right about now. There have been rumors of Diablo 4, and an animated series before and if true, this could be what Blizzard needs to spark some new interest in the now long-in-the-tooth gaming franchise.

Blizzard has said before that they had multiple Diablo projects in the works, so this could be one of them. The timing seems right too since Blizzard is bringing Diablo 3 to the Nintendo Switch this November. With its original release back in 2012, it’s an old game, so releasing an animated series would bring in some fresh players for sure. This could reinvigorate the franchise and give it some new life so it lasts for many more years to come.

Telltale Looking Into Finishing The Walking Dead: Final Season

Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Final Season has started its release, but as some of you guys might have heard, the company had recently announced that they will be closing up shop and it was also later revealed that The Walking Dead might not be completed and would end after episode 2 (the game, not the TV series).

This is a bummer because it means that the game will be incomplete, along with its story that Telltale has been working on for the past few years. However there is some good news in which according to a tweet by the company, it seems that they are trying to finish up the rest of the season.

The tweet reads that they have had “multiple potential partners” come forward and express their interest in helping Telltale complete the game. Given that Telltale has recently laid off the majority of their staff, it is understandable that they might not have the resources to do this alone. The studio does caution that this is by no means a guarantee that anything will happen, but it is something that they are looking into.

In the meantime episode 2 is expected to be released as scheduled, and fingers-crossed that episodes 3 and 4 will be able to make the final cut. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info. In the meantime Netflix is also looking for alternate ways to keep its Stranger Things game alive which was one of the games that Telltale was supposed to help develop.

Google Lens Will Work In Real-Time With The Pixel 3’s Camera

If you wanted to make use of Google Lens, you would either need to launch the app or use an app/service that has it built-in, like Google Assistant. While this method works just fine, it seems that Google will be making some changes to Google Lens with its upcoming Pixel 3 smartphones, where apparently Google Lens will be able to work in real-time with the smartphone’s camera.

This is according to a tweet by user Ishan Agarwal where he had uploaded a video that showed how the Pixel 3’s camera can automatically detect items placed in front of it. The video has since been removed, but according to XDA who managed to see it, basically the video showed business cards being put in front of the Pixel 3’s camera and thanks to Google Lens, it was able to detect the business card and the email address on it. It then presented the user with an option to launch Gmail to send an email to that contact.

While the Google Lens app is capable of doing the same thing, one of the advantages of having Lens built into the camera app is that users can launch the camera app from the lock screen which will save them time from having to unlock their phone and launch the Lens app. We’re not sure if there are any limitations to what kind of apps can be launched while the phone is locked, but like we said, it should still save users some time.

Take this feature with a grain of salt for now but we expect that more details will be revealed on the 9th of October which is when Google is expected to announce its new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones.
