New 2018 iPad Pro Renders Show Us What We Can Expect

Apple has confirmed that they will be hosting an event on the 30th of October where it is largely expected that new iPads will be announced. Given that Apple has yet to refresh the iPad Pro lineup, there is a good chance that we might be seeing that happen. In fact not only is the iPad Pro expected to be upgraded internally, but it could be refreshed externally as well.

Thanks to a renders created by designer Viktor Kadar (via 9to5Mac), it shows us what we might be able to expect from the 2018 refresh. Note that these designs aren’t “leaks” and are instead concept renderings based on earlier rumors. However it doesn’t seem to differ too greatly from what we’ve seen before.

This includes flat-sided edges around the tablet (it was curved/rounded previously), along with an edge-to-edge display. The new iPads are also expected to feature the use of Face ID although there will not be a notch, and that Apple could also be ditching Lightning in favor of USB-C, which we reckon is a pretty big deal for a company that loves its proprietary tech.

Take these renderings with a grain of salt for now, but if you’re interested in getting a new iPad, it might not be a bad idea to hold off on buying a new one just yet since it is possible that we might be getting new ones soon.

Microsoft Launches ‘Spend’ Expense Tracker For iOS

Are you looking for a way to manage your expenses? There are various apps out there that are more than capable of getting the job done, but it seems that Microsoft has tossed their hat into the ring as the company has since launched its own expense tracker for iOS devices simply called “Spend”.

Note that this app is part of Microsoft Garage which is essentially the company’s arm/branch that dabbles in experimental projects, meaning that this probably doesn’t have the full weight or resources behind it like Microsoft’s other apps and services, like Office, for example. However this doesn’t mean that the app isn’t useful or good, but its semi-experimental nature should be taken into consideration to manage your expectations.

That being said, Spend does seem rather interesting based on one of its features, which is the ability for it to automatically track and match your expenses. The app will be able to track your expenses from a linked credit card or bank account, where they can be categorized as personal or business expenses, and automatically categorized.

Just like most expense trackers, Spend will also be able to generate reports and export them as PDFs or spreadsheets. Now whether or not you feel comfortable providing credit card and bank information to the app is up to you, although we imagine that this might give some pause, but we’ll admit that it does make it easier to track your expenses. Spend is a free app that can be downloaded via the App Store for those living in the US.

Apple Could Offer Sneak Peek Of Its Modular Mac Pro This Month

One of the reasons why many professionals loved Apple’s older Mac Pro was due to the fact that it could be easily upgraded by swapping parts in and out. This is versus the current-gen Mac Pro which seems a bit more tricky. Apple had previously acknowledged that they have a new Mac Pro in the works that will bring back the modular features.

Now according to a report from Architosh, it seems that Apple could offer a sneak peek of its modular Mac Pro at its upcoming event on the 30th of October. Apple will be hosting an event at the end of the month where they are expected to unveil its updated iPads and also new Mac computers that weren’t refreshed earlier this year.

However some are now speculating that the event could see Apple offer a sneak peek of the new Mac Pros that are expected to arrive next year. It is unclear if this sneak peek will be given to select journalists or if it will be on display to all, like Apple did with the current Mac Pro when they teased its launch a few years ago.

Apple’s Phil Schiller had confirmed to TechCrunch last year that they had a new Mac Pro in the works. Schiller said, “As part of doing a new Mac Pro — it is, by definition, a modular system — we will be doing a Pro display as well. Now you won’t see any of those products this year; we’re in the process of that. We think it’s really important to create something great for our pro customers who want a Mac Pro modular system, and that’ll take longer than this year to do.”

Whether or not we’ll see the new Mac Pro preview this year remains to be seen, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
