This Casio G-Shock Watch Transforms into Optimus Prime

Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy has teamed up with Casio to make a very cool watch and watch holder combo. Casio Japan has introduced this special edition G-Shock x Transformers DW-6900TF and it is amazing. This set is being released to celebrate 35 years of G-Shock and the 35th anniversary of Transformers in 2019.

You get a watch with Optimus Prime’s color scheme of red and blue, along with a transformable Optimus Prime figure that doubles as a watch holder. I mean, just look at how cool this thing is. The watch displays in either “pedestal” mode or in robot form. Or you can wear it. The G-Shock 5600 or 6900 also fits in the watch holder too.

The G-Shock x Transformers DW-6900TF-SET will be officially available on December 8, 2018 for 29,000 yen before tax (~$257 USD). I’m hoping they offer some other Transformers watch sets as well. This one is really damn cool. I wouldn’t mind having a few of these lined up on my desk.

The bad news? Well, sadly this is a Japan-only deal. I know. I’m depressed too. Why do they always get me so excited and then pull the Japan-exclusive crap on me? It’s so mean. It’s abuse really. America deserves this too you know.

Fallout 76 Gets Its First Post-Launch Update with Lots of Bug Fixes

Fallout 76 is here, but there’s a big divide among fans. Some like this new take on the franchise, while others feel disappointed, even betrayed. Many wanted a simple new Fallout game, not a new version that does something different. Well, Bethesda can always improve it with updates. Speaking of which, the first post-launch update is here, and it’s massive. The patched game weighs in at a whopping 47GB, which is nearly as big as the entire game. You’ll need plenty of bandwidth to grab this update, so if you plan on playing over Thanksgiving, you’d better start downloading today.

Bethesda says that future patches will vary in size, but they should not be as big as this one is. They made a few changes to fix in-game freezes and performance issues, and to bolster the stability of the servers and the game client. Other fixes address a wide range of things, from enemies and crafting to quests and more. Respawning after being killed in PVP combat will now clear your hostile status. There are also fixes to PVP’s Seek Revenge mechanic, regarding displaying accurate Cap rewards when either hunting down a player who killed you or killing a player who is seeking revenge.

There have also been some changes to crafting and workshops like preventing blueprints from breaking into smaller parts when you log out. A bug that would return items to a broken state after they had been fixed has also been addressed. You can read the full list of patch notes on the Bethesda website.

So no matter what you think of the game, it’s good to hear that Bethesda is already working to make it better.

It’s Now Possible To Sign In To Your Microsoft Account Without A Password

It’s easier and more secure to sign in to your Microsoft Account. Microsoft has announced support for standards-based FIDO2 security key devices to enable users to sign into their Microsoft Account without having to punch in a username or password. It’s enabling support for the security key or Windows Hello through the Edge browser. Microsoft is also the first company to support password-less authentication through the FIDO2 WebAuthn and CTAP2 standards.

Starting today, those who are on the Windows 10 October 2018 update will be able to configure a Windows Hello or physical security key from Yubico or FEITIAN that support the FIDO2 standard. Users with a device that has a Windows Hello webcam or fingerprint reader can just visit Microsoft Account settings with Edge and link a Windows 10 machine to their account. This will eliminate the password requirement at entry.

It does that by placing a private key on the trusted platform module in the Windows 10 device. It’s used alongside the physical key or biometric Windows Hello authentication for verification against the public key that’s stored on Microsoft’s servers. It’s this combination that offers more security against malware and phishing scams since users will be more accustomed to logging in without a username or password.

This password-less experience is currently available on Microsoft Edge but it will be available through other browsers as well once they start supporting the WebAuthn and FIDO2 standards.
