Earlier in November, Barnes & Noble unveiled the Nook Tablet 10.1, a slate whose main appeal is its sheer value for money — $130 gets you a 1,920 x 1,200 screen and 32GB of expandable storage. However, it may be the just-released accessories for…

We live in an increasingly dangerous and crazy world, where anyone out there might pull out a gun and start mowing people down randomly. Personal safety is not something that should be taken lightly, and regardless of whether you have a black belt in a martial arts discipline or not, it is always good to have a back up plan. TASER has released its TASER Pulse+, which is the first consumer product from the company that incorporates Noonlight’s new Bluetooth plugin technology. This technology will provide it with the ability to notify emergency services whenever the TASER device is deployed.
Each time the TASER Pulse+ is deployed, Noonlight will go ahead to notify and contact emergency services in order to send help to the user’s location via real-time GPS tracking that is provided through the Noonlight mobile application. You do not need to get up close and personal with the TASER Pulse+ as it can be effective from 15 ft. (4.6 m) away, with cycles for 30 seconds. Should it be used in self-defense and due to understandable circumstances, it is left at the scene, the TASER Pulse+ may be replaced for free as long as it falls within the guidelines of Axon’s Safe Escape Product Replacement Guarantee.
The whole idea of the TASER Pulse+ is not to threaten people, but rather, to be used in self-defense situations. When you are all alone, it can end up pretty scary and overwhelming as the victim, which is why the whole idea of the TASER Pulse+ is to help the victim get to safety as fast as possible. All the user needs to do is to aim, pull the trigger, and run, safe in the knowledge that help is well on its way.
It is useful to note that most states allow one to carry TASER products legally, and the $449 asking price for the TASER Pulse+ is certainly cheap compared to one’s life and safety.

The Google Assistant had a feature limited only to the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL when those handsets were launched. It could screen spam calls by answering a suspected spam call and transcribing the response in real time. This allowed the users to decide whether or not they wanted to answer that call. This feature is now being rolled out to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
The real-time transcribing made it easier for users to decide whether they wanted to answer the call, end it immediately or just block the number and report it as spam. All they had to do was tap on the “screen call” button when they received a call from a number they did not recognize.
The call would then be alerted that you’re using a “screening service from Google” and that you will get a copy of the conversation. The service asked them to state their name and their reason for calling which is then relayed to the user transcribed in real-time.
The latest Google Phone update that’s rolling out this week brings this very useful feature to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL as well. Once the update is installed, users can find the settings for this feature in the Phone app. That’s where the voice that callers hear can be changed and also where you can find a quick demo of the service.
