Apple’s products have never been referred to as cheap. However if for whatever reason you must own an Apple product, then chances are you might already be familiar with the fact that Apple sells refurbished products on its website. In fact the company has recently launched a redesigned online refurbished store.
As 9to5Mac points out, Apple’s old refurbished section was anything but appealing and is a stark contrast compared to the fancy product pages that they use for newer products. However Apple has since changed that and its new refurbished storefront looks pretty impressive and should make shopping there a better experience.
For those who aren’t familiar with how Apple approaches refurbished products, according to the company, they are claiming that these devices are essentially “like new”. “You will receive a ‘like new’ device that has been thoroughly cleaned, with new battery and outer shell, and genuine Apple parts (if needed). The device will come with all accessories, cables, and operating systems.”
Apple will also be providing customers with a standard one-year limited warranty on refurbished products which can be extended via AppleCare. That being said, we should point out that availability of refurbished products depends on how many customers return their products, which means that sometimes the color, storage size, and configuration of a particular refurbished product might not necessarily be what you want, so you’ll actually have to keep an eye out for it.

If there is still a reason why people aren’t as quick to adopt a smartwatch is because of battery life. When you consider the fact that traditional timepieces need a change of battery maybe once every few years (some models are self-charging), the idea that you can only use your smartwatch for 1-2 days before it dies is a bit off-putting.
That being said, smartwatch battery life has come a long way since the early days, and Google is doing their part in improving on that. The company has recently announced the latest update to its Wear OS platform called “H” in which one of the focuses of the update is to the battery saver mode of the operating system.
According to Google, “This update extends your battery life even further by turning on Battery Saver to only display the time once your battery falls below 10%.” There will also be improved off-body efficiency, where when it detects that you are no longer wearing the watch (after 30 minutes), it will go into a deep sleep.
There will also be other features such as smart app resume that lets you pick up where you left off on your watch apps, and a two-step power off function that lets you turn off your Wear OS smartwatch quickly and easily. The update has yet to be released and according to Google, this should take place over the next few months.
