Telltale Games Is Closing Down For Good

Telltale Games is the studio behind some popular episodic titles like The Walking Dead. However, it has been going through some troubles recently which led the studio to lay off a majority of its employees several weeks ago. Telltale was actually in assignment proceedings which are similar to bankruptcy. It has now been confirmed that this studio will be closing down for good.

Sherwood Partners will be the company handling the winding up proceedings of Telltale Games. Its co-founder Martin Pitchinson confirmed to GameDaily that the company is handling Telltale’s liquidation.

A former employee has also reported that their post employment healthcare insurance will stop by the end of this month. It was supposed to last for 18 months after their positions were terminated.

Some of Telltale’s games have been removed from sale on Steam as well. The titles include Back to the Future and Tales of Monkey Island. Even though the final season of The Walking Dead was pulled from sale temporarily it’s now listed once again on Steam with some other titles including Game of Thrones.

All of this goes to show that it’s the end of the road for Telltale Games. The two unreleased projects that it was working on, The Wolf Among Us 2 and Stranger Things, may never arrive.

Foldable Hover 2 Drone Features Advanced Obstacle Avoidance

The Hover Camera Passport foldable drone was launched a couple of years ago and it was very well received. The successor has now been unveiled. Hover 2 retains the foldable form factor of its predecessor and also comes with advanced obstacle avoidance. Like its predecessor, it’s meant to be a selfie drone that’s used best for taking pictures of you against stunning backdrops.

Hover 2 has a robust carbon fiber enclosure while the foldable form factor makes it easy to carry. It’s powered by an unnamed Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and is capable of recording 4K 30fps video with face and body tracking.

The flight time is almost double than its predecessor, 19 minutes compared to 10 minutes of the original Hover drone. The weight is consequently almost twice as before. The Hover 2 weighs 1.1 pounds. There’s a new 12 megapixel 1/2.3 inch main camera sensor with a 2 axis gimbal and a pitch range of -90 to 0 degrees. Electronic image stabilization is supported and there’s 8GB of internal storage with microSD support of up to 128GB.

The “Optical Radar” is a new addition to the drone. It comes out from the top of the body and uses the stereo cameras to power advanced obstacle avoidance in any traveling direction. It can detect obstacles up to 10 meters away at speeds under 7 m/s. This means that the drone can fly with much lower risk of crashing into something. It retains the predecessor’s downward obstacle detection feature as well.

The Kickstarter campaign for this drone is now live. It’s being offered for $399 during the crowdfunding campaign but will have a $699 retail price once it hit stores.

Facebook Rolling Out Unsend Feature For Messenger

Facebook recently confirmed that it will soon enable users to unsend messages within a specified period of time after they have sent it on Facebook Messenger. Those who have been waiting for this feature to arrive will be delighted to know that Facebook is now rolling out the unsend feature for Messenger. Many users are waiting for this feature since Messenger is one of the most popular cross-platform messaging services in the world.

This feature will allow you to remove messages, photos, videos, links, group chats, and more after they have been sent on Messenger. However, there’s a very tight timeframe to do this. You will only have ten minutes to unsend something on Messenger after it has been sent.

This doesn’t take away from the ability to delete any message on your side of the conversation whenever you want. However, if you want to remove something from the recipient’s side as well, you will have to use the unsend feature within ten minutes.

Many would be wishing that this time limit could have been more generous than the ten minutes that Facebook is offering. WhatsApp lets users unsend messages in a full hour after they have been sent, it’s owned by Facebook as well.

Use this feature by tapping and holding on a message you want to unsend and then selecting the “Remove for Everyone” option. Recipients will see that you have removed a message. This feature is available for Facebook Messenger users starting today.
