Nikon Z6 Full Frame Mirrorless Camera Arrives November 16th

Nikon unveiled the relatively affordable Z6 full frame mirrorless camera earlier this year. It will be a good option for those looking for a camera of this sort without shelling out close to $3,500 for the company’s Z7 camera. Nikon has confirmed today that the Z6 camera will be available for purchase starting November 16th.

Customers will be able to purchase the Z6 in body only form for $2,000. If they want it with the 24-70mm f/4 S lens then they will have to pay $2,600. The camera has a 24.5 megapixel full frame sensor with 100-51,200 native ISO, 273 autofocus points, 12 fps continuous shooting, and 4K video.

It shares many features with the more expensive Nikon Z6. They both feature 5 axis in-body stabilization and vibration reduction as well as the same menu UI. They also have support for Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi. The Z6 only supports Sony’s XQD memory cards with the one slot that it has but support for CFexpress Type B card will eventually arrive as well.

The Nikon Z6 also features dedicated headphone and microphone ports so it’s a good option for videographers as well. There 4K video support at 30fps and 1280fps at 1080p. Nikon will begin selling the Z6 starting November 16th.

Windows 10 October Update Rollout Resumed

Microsoft has resumed rolling out the Windows 10 October update. It was originally released in the first week of last month but Microsoft had to pull the October update due to a bug which was causing data loss for those who installed it. The company has addressed the matter and is now rolling out this update to PCs once again.

Microsoft says that it has thoroughly investigated and resolved all related issues due to which it had to pause the roll out of this update. It has closely monitored feedback and diagnostic data from Windows Insiders to further ensure that there’s no data loss issue.

The company adds that it will continue to carefully study the results after resuming the roll out and will gradually make it available to more devices in phases over the coming weeks. Microsoft is taking it slow with the release to ensure that users don’t encounter such a problem again.

Microsoft says that it will offer the October Update to users through Windows Update when data shows that their device is ready. If it detects that a device may have an issue, such as an incompatible app, it will not install the update until that issue is resolved first. It will be possible for advanced users to manually install the update through the “Check for updates” options in settings.

Vega GPU For MacBook Pro Now Available For Purchase

It was revealed rather quietly after Apple’s recent hardware event that the company will soon be offering AMD Radeon Pro Vega GPU options for the MacBook Pro. The company is now selling the optional GPUs through its online store. You can head over there now and configure a 15 inch MacBook Pro with an AMD Radeon Pro Vega 16 or Vega 20 GPU.

The option to add more powerful graphics to this MacBook Pro is live starting today. Customers can now choose a Vega 16 or Vega 20 GPU as a discrete graphics chip instead of the Intel UHD Graphics 630 that comes as standard on the 15 inch MacBook Pro.

Apple previously offered Radeon Pro 555X or Radeon Pro 560X GPU with each having 4GB of GDDR5 memory. It now allows customers to opt for Vega 16 or Vega 20 and both of them have 4GB of HBM2 memory. The second generation High Bandwidth Memory offers more memory bandwidth per chip and consumes less power than GDDR5. These powerful graphics chips also have a Rapid Packed Math feature to accelerate processing of workloads in realtime in order to reduce the resources needed for repetitive tasks.

Customers can configure the 15 inch MacBook Pro with these GPUs starting today from Apple’s online stores and retail outlets through custom orders only. The upgrade from the Radeon Pro 560X to the Radeon Pro Vega 16 and Vega 20 costs $250 and $350 respectively.
