Game Of Thrones Season 8 Teaser Reveals Premiere Month

HBO is yet to confirm precisely when season 8 of its hit show Game of Thrones is going to air. What the company has done is narrow it down for us even further. We previously knew that it was going to arrive in 2019 and now the cable giant has confirmed the month in a new teaser that it has released today for Game of Thrones Season 8.

HBO has confirmed through this new Game of Thrones season 8 trailer that the show will premiere in April 2019. The precise date has not yet been confirmed and will likely be revealed much closer to the actual day.

The teaser doesn’t bring us any footage from the new season as it’s made up entirely of clips from earlier seasons all of which are now streaming on HBO Go as well as HBO Now, the standalone streaming service. The clips simply provide a glimpse of the events that have happened so far as they range from Ned Stark’s execution in season one to the previous season’s massive battle.

So the teaser merely serves as a reminder for fans that they can catch up on the previous six seasons ahead of the latest season’s arrival in April 2019. As it’s just a few months away, it may not be long before HBO releases a proper trailer for the new season which actually brings us new footage.

Project Fi Now Offers Improved Security With Google-Run VPN

Project Fi, Google’s mobile carrier, can’t make a blanket privacy policy for its network since it actually relies on third-parties like Sprint and T-Mobile for network service. What it can do is improve the security of data before it actually passes through the network. It has thus decided to enhance the VPN technology for Project Fi that’s offered by Google.

The Project Fi VPN is now being extended to all connections as part of the enhanced Fi network that’s now available in beta. Once the enhanced network is enabled, all of the user’s mobile and Wi-Fi traffic will be encrypted and sent through Google’s VPN.

This means that users can have peace of mind on every network that they connect to, which can be many, as Project Fi offers free access to 2 million Wi-Fi hotspots. The VPN has been designed in such a way that the traffic isn’t tied to the user’s Google account or phone number.

Project Fi’s enhanced network also brings seamless handoff between cellular and Wi-Fi networks. If it detects that the Wi-Fi connection has become unusable, it automatically fills in the connection gaps with cellular data. Google says that this has reduced the time without a working connect by up to 40 percent in its testing.

The enhanced network will be rolling out this week for Project Fi users with compatible devices running Android Pie. It can be enabled from the Fi Network Tools in the Project Fi app.

Largest UK Carrier To Launch 5G In 16 Cities Next Year

Add the United Kingdom to the list of countries with commercial 5G networks scheduled for launch in 2019. It’s already known that carriers in the United States and South Korea will be launching their commercial 5G networks next year. EE, the UK’s largest mobile carrier, has now confirmed that its 5G network will be launched in 16 cities.

The first lanch cities will be the country’s four capital cities – London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Belfast in addition to Birmingham and Manchester. It’s building the 5G network in the busiest parts of the launch cities including Hyde Park in London, Manchester Arena, Belfast City Airport, Edinburgh Waverly train station, the Welsh Assembly, and Birmingham’s Bullring.

Aside from these six launch cities, EE will also introduce 5G in 10 more cities across the country next year. They include Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry, and Bristol. The network will be launched with multiple smartphone partners as well as an EE 5G Home router with external antenna so that home users can get 5G broadband services.

The first 1,500 cell sites that EE upgrades to 5G in 2019 will carry 25 percent of all data across the entire network but only cover 15 percent of the country’s population. It will be upgrading those sites first which can “make the biggest difference to the most people.” The transmission is being upgraded to 10Gbps links at each 5G site.
