Muse 2 personal meditation assistant

muse2Interaxon Inc. is the company behind the Muse, which is a brain sensing headband that certainly raises an eyebrow or two. Over time, this has led to the launch of the Muse 2, which is a revolutionary device that functions as a personal meditation assistant. The Muse 2 has been specially designed in order to provide real-time feedback on brain activity, but it does not stop there. It will also help deliver similar feedback in terms of body movement, breathing patterns and heart rate when one meditates.

How does the Muse 2 work? For starters, it will rely on its integrated biosignal, inertial, and heart sensors in order to create real-time audio experiences across a quartet of key areas in order to help users find focused calm, improve posture, all the while increasing both breath and heart awareness. With virtually every single smart device available out there these days, there needs to be an accompanying app to go along with it, and the Muse 2 is no different. Its app will translate meditators’ internal states into immersive soundscapes, helping provide subtle guidance during meditation.

The new posture, heart, and breath experiences will allow the Muse 2 to open up a wider path of entry into a mindfulness practice, as well as a robust foundation that will be able to support both novice and experienced meditators. The Muse Mind Experience is part of the Muse 2, where your mental activity can be translated into the guiding sounds of weather. Research has shown that the Muse Mind Experience is capable of producing a significant reduction in stress in a matter of just four weeks, not to mention potentially beneficial neuroplastic changes in the user’s brain.

Where the Body experience is concerned, the Muse 2 will measure stillness via motion tracking. Any postural shifts and fidgeting will result in shimmers of real-time audio feedback in the form of beautiful wind chimes, helping guide users back to a place of restful stillness and physical relaxation. The Muse 2 will retail for $249 and will certainly go some way in calming you down after forking out that amount of money for what others might think to be a novelty.

Spotify Connect Speakers Opening Up To Free Users

Spotify Connect streaming on separate devices has been limited to those with a Premium Spotify account ever since this feature was launched but that’s going to change real soon. The music streaming behemoth has updated its Commercial Partners SDK which allows Spotify Connect devices to work just as well with free accounts.

What this means that is a free user has a smart speaker that supports Spotify Connect, they will now be able to stream music from the service. Since they’re on the free tier, they will obviously have to put up with ads.

Those who own such speakers should keep in mind that the feature will not be immediately opened up for their device. The SDK requires the manufacturer to first update their devices. The change in the SDK is without a doubt a major step forward and as manufacturers gradually update their devices, Spotify Connect will open up to more subscribers, whether they pay for Spotify or not.

This may seem like a Premium incentive is being taken away but truth be told, there are still many limitations on free subscribers. They can’t download songs, skip unlimited tracks, and are also limited to lower-quality audio. That being said, there are still more than 100 million people using the free version of Spotify.

LEGO Wind Turbine Set Includes First Plant-based Plastic Parts

As much as we love or LEGO sets, these building blocks are made of plastics, which are byproducts of crude oil and natural gases. And while we’re not tossing LEGO bricks in the trash like drinking straws, making them still isn’t great for the environment. That said, LEGO wants to be more sustainable, and it is starting with this set called the LEGO 10268 Creator Expert Vestas Wind Turbine.

The set is based on Vestas’ wind turbine which is installed in over 80 countries. What makes this set unique is its use of plant-based plastic. The tiny trees in the set are made from all-new sustainably sourced plant-based plastic. The plastic used to make the spruce trees are made from sugarcane. The rest of the plastic elements of this set still uses plastics from conventional sources, but I guess LEGO needed to start small to see how this goes before ramping up.

The 826-piece set has a Vestas Wind Turbine that stands 3.3 feet tall, and comes with the ‘Plants from Plants’ spruce trees, along with a house with a working porch light. You also get three LEGO Vestas servicemen minifigures and a LEGO dog. This is one pretty cool and innovative LEGO set. I’d really like to own this one. You can order yours for $199.99 starting on November 23, 2018 in the LEGO Shop.

Fallen AT-AT Tape Dispenser Turns Your Desk into Hoth

You know, for as big and badass as AT-ATs are, they’re kind of cute too. Perhaps that’s why we cheer when the snowspeeder takes one of these down with tow cables, we can’t help feeling a little sad when it falls. Or maybe that’s just me.

AT-ATs are like big mechanical dogs. The Emperor was just trying to take ’em for a walk when those rebels attacked. Anyway, do you love AT-ATs? We all do. So naturally, we all need one of these cool fallen AT-AT tape dispensers created by Hallmark. It looks like an AT-AT that just got taken down by the Rebellion, and has been converted into the world’s largest tape dispenser. It’s the perfect desk accessory for the Star Wars fan who has everything… except a tape dispenser.

It’s a great way to remember the fallen giant from The Empire Strikes Back and to honor the proud mechanical beast. It will cost you $45 over on Amazon. Sure that’s a little pricey for a tape dispenser, but come on, it’s an AT-AT tape dispenser. You know you want to make your desk look all snowy like Hoth and put this bad boy in the scene. That’s the beginning of a great Christmas display right there.
